1. Brother of one-punch victim Daniel Christie shares details in court.
The brother of a young man who was killed in Sydney’s Kings Cross in 2013 has told a court how accused killer, Shaun McNeil, intimidated and assaulted him and his brother.
McNeil is charged with the murder of 18-year-old Daniel Christie, after allegedly delivering the blow that led to his death.
Daniel’s brother Peter has testified in court today, telling the jury that Mr McNeil intimidated them, stating he was an MMA fighter.
“He had, like, an aggressive sort of manner. Sort of, beefing up, to look big,” Mr Christie said of Mr McNeil.
Mr Christie said he approached Daniel who said “no,no,no,no” and backed away before the attack.
Mr McNeil, 27, then delivered a swift, hard punch to Daniel’s face, and then another to Peter, ABC News reports.
2. Lindt Cafe vandal identified – as Brisbane sport star.
The man charged in relation to an attack on the Martin Place Lindt Cafe last night has been identified as Brisbane basketball player, Luke Martin.
Martin allegedly threw rocks at the window’s of the cafe, which was the site of the deadly Sydney siege attack that claimed two innocent lives last year.
