Eight of the grossest things Bachelor in Paradise's Daniel did on The Bachelorette US.

Well.

Daniel Maguire is back on Bachelor in Paradise for a second time.

Last season, he was known for a) starring at Nina’s breasts for too long, b) making an inappropriate remark to Laurina about her bottom and c) referring to women as his puppets.

Cool.

But before that, Daniel starred on the 12th season of The Bachelorette US in 2016 and later appeared on the US Bachelor in Paradise seasons three and four alongside Grant Kemp, who you might remember from last year.

Along the way, he’s gained a reputation for saying awful things about women and doing all sorts of incredibly awkward things on TV.

Here are just eight of those things. Brace yourselves.

1. The infamous exit interview from The Bachelorette.

After being booted out of  The Bachelorette US in just week four of season 12, Daniel gave his awkward take on the situation.

“I just wasn’t the type of guy for her, and fair enough,” he told the producers of his exit.

“She was obviously going for personality and obviously my personality is f*cked. If this was based solely on looks, there’s a good chance I would still be here.

“I know I’m a great catch… but there’s millions of people in the world and the chances of her falling for me are — I’ve got a better chance of getting struck by lightning while, you know, shaving my face,” he babbled.

“She [The Bachelorette] is obviously going for personality… if this was based solely on looks, there’s a good chance I’d still be there. My body had nothing to do with this, because obviously, she doesn’t care about that… Those other guys aren’t on my level, bottom line. No one’s on my level,” Daniel declared.

Cringe.

2. His interesting take on tattoos.

Tattoos aren’t for everyone, that’s cool. Except just like Kim Kardashian, Daniel’s reasoning for not having tattoos is because he thinks his body is like a luxury car.

In an interview before The Bachelorette season aired, Daniel was asked if he had any tattoos. He responded: “No – same reason you don’t put stickers on a Lambo.”

You do you, Daniel.

3. His drunken debut on The Bachelorette.

There’s no denying that season 12 of The Bachelorette US was a bit of a drunken mess. The most over the top drunk? Daniel Maguire, of course.

Daniel ended up stripped down to his undies, flexing and slurring for the cameras, and insisting on poking the other contestants’ belly buttons.

4. His job title? Canadian.

On Instagram, Daniel describes himself as a reality TV character, personal trainer, research consultant and a male model.

The Bachelorette, however, had other ideas. While other contestants were labelled with their professions, e.g. Restaurant Manager, Daniel’s job title was simply: Canadian.

5. Awkward first impressions.

Daniel isn't exactly the best when it comes to first impressions. On his first night on Australia's Bachelor in Paradise, he practically flirted with half the cast.

On his debut on The Bachelorette US, Daniel had an incredibly awkward introduction to JoJo Fletcher.

His initial response when he stepped out of the limo was saying, "Daaaaamn JoJo, back at it again as the next Bachelorette."

Yeah, good luck using internet memes when meeting a complete stranger, who you plan on dating.

The worst part? Even with Daniel awkwardly explaining the line, JoJo didn't even know the meme.

6. His biggest fear is... interesting.

In an interview prior to appearing on The Bachelorette, Daniel revealed his biggest fear going on the show was that his future potential life partner might embarrass him in a restaurant.

Yes, really. That's his biggest fear.

7. He regularly refers to himself as an "eagle".

In his time on reality TV, Daniel has created a cringe-worthy nickname for himself – "the eagle". He has also referred to himself as "papa bear" and a "wolf".

"So if you want this rose tonight, come to papa bear," he said. Uh, no thanks.

Speaking on the US Bachelor in Paradise, Maguire shared some words of wisdom about why he's single, including bird metaphors, of course. He said, "I have very high standards. An eagle doesn't settle for a pigeon, right? An eagle settles for an eagle. I don't know what's better than an eagle, like a pterodactyl or something?"

8. Just all the gross things he has said about women.

Daniel's animal metaphors don't just extend to himself, he also uses them to describe women.

In fact, Daniel thought that he was the hottest catch on the US Bachelor in Paradise, comparing the women to dogs. "I’m a wolf and so far these are poodles, little Yorkies and street dogs."

He later went on to say: "Hopefully there's some better fresh fruit that comes in that looks not so worn out and not too ripe. Something that looks a little more crisp, a little more succulent and juicy. So far the fruit here looks like it's been bruised in transportation."

The "juicy" contestants? The two 23-year-old's contestants, of course.

In the bin you hop, mate.
