America's Sweethearts just got renewed for season 2. Here's who's returning.

Netflix's docuseries America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders offered an enthralling look into the world of one of the most iconic cheerleading squads in the NFL.

The show followed the 2023-2024 season, chronicling the journey from auditions through training camp and into the football season. Created by Greg Whiteley, known for the college cheerleading series Cheer, this seven-episode series provides unprecedented access to the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.

The series showcased the intense physical and emotional challenges faced by both rookies and veterans as they compete for coveted spots on the squad.

The documentary delved into various aspects of the cheerleaders' lives, including the pressure to maintain a perfect image, the rigorous training regimen, the safety concerns the women have and the shockingly low salaries they make for their high-profile roles.

Since arriving on Netflix, America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders has remained in the top 10 most watched TV shows which begs the question: will there be more episodes?

Will there be season two of America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders?

Director Greg Whiteley will be back, as the streaming platform teased the season "will follow the 2024-25 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders squad from start to finish — kicking off at auditions and training camp and continuing all the way through the NFL season."

A renewal seemed probable given its popularity, ranking in Netflix's top TV shows for weeks after its release.

It is worth noting that the DCC has previously starred in a long-running series similar to the Netflix show, titled Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team, which ran from 2006 to 2022. You can watch that on Paramount Plus.

Whiteley expressed interest in continuing the show. He told Variety, "I felt like we were just starting to get there as we were wrapping up, and I'd love to have more time to see if we can get deeper and deeper with more and more of the team."

In the case of Netflix's Cheer, the 2020 series about the Navarro College cheer squad also directed by Whiteley, this was expected to be a limited series but was renewed after an overwhelming response to its first season.

A second season will likely follow a similar timeline to the first season. Given that the 2024-2025 NFL season auditions have already been completed and training camp is underway, filming must be happening now if it were to cover the current season.

Who is in Season 2 of America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders?

The cast depends on who makes the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders squad for the season being filmed; AKA who made the cut for the 2024-2025 team?

After retiring last year, Victoria will not be returning for the second season. Another fan favourite, Kelcey, has also retired — though she's still on the scene for 'all star' moments.

"Five years was the perfect amount of time for me," Kelcey shared on Instagram, when a fan asked if she wished she could've stayed longer. "I will always miss parts of it, but I really felt at peace leaving."

Some familiar faces from season one, like Reece and Anna Kate, have already been confirmed to be back in training camp. And some rookies who missed out last season have made the 24-25 team, such as Kelly and Charly.

Charly celebrated the news on Instagram.

"My literal dream come true!!!! I would not change a thing and honoured does not even describe how I feel! This organisation means the absolute world to me and to be able to call it home now means more than I'll ever be able to say," she wrote. "What a legacy to be a part of. I am SO. EXCITED."

Kelly also celebrated her admission, poking fun at the 'blonde' makeover she received in season one.

"I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to process the fact that my lifelong dream has come true," she shared on Instagram.

"From setback to comeback, from blonde Kelly to brunette Kelly, I wouldn't change my journey for the world!!!!! The people I have met along the way, the lessons I have learned, and the growth that I have gained are things I will cherish forever. Chasing dreams is the furthest thing from easy, but if I've learned one thing through this process, it's to never give up on them. This journey taught me the power of resilience and the importance of hard work and dedication."
