KayDianna left DCC in a controversial blaze. This is what she did next.

Season 2 of America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders has high-kicked its way onto Netflix.

The cult series offers a peek inside the DCC, as the docuseries shows the gruelling road to making the team… and err, staying on it.

The latest season introduced some new faves like Armani Latimer and Jada Mclean while bringing back familiar faces like Charly Barby, but there was one dancer whose storyline ended before it began.

Umm, what was going on with KayDianna MacKenzie? That was some real tea, my friends.

After not hearing much from KayDianna all season, the viewers found out that she was suspended from the team and didn't even attend the team's annual end-of-season banquet.

The drama began during a team trip to the Bahamas, where veteran cheerleader and group leader, Chandi Dayle, broke a major DCC rule by inviting a man into her shared hotel room. This breach of protocol led to Chandi taking a leave of absence as both a cheerleader and a group leader.

With Chandi sidelined, another veteran, KayDianna, was promoted to her position, stepping into a high-pressure role at a time when the team was already unsettled.

KayDianna's experience as group leader didn't go well. On America's Sweethearts, she admitted to feeling unsupported in the new role.

"I definitely didn't feel supported. I felt like I was just a body," she said.

"It was as if Chandi got the perks of being a first leader and I got the responsibility part of it."

Then while Chandi was still absent, KayDianna hosted a TikTok Live where fans asked about Chandi's sudden disappearance from games. She responded vaguely, saying she'd "make a video on that one day" but did not mention Chandi by name.

A viewer recorded the livestream and posted it to Reddit, which caught the attention of DCC management.

Shortly after, KayDianna was contacted by staff and told she was under investigation for bullying and harassment. The DCC's leadership saw her comments as targeting Chandi and not in line with the organisation's rules to not speak negatively about the team.

The dramatic reaction from DCC got a big response from Netflix viewers, who were left confused.

KayDianna was officially suspended from the team pending the investigation. She later explained on America's Sweethearts that — after this experience — she decided to leave the squad on her own terms.

"I just told myself that I needed to take myself out of the organisation and that I needed to respect myself," she said.

Director Kelli Finglass addressed the situation on camera, saying that it was KayDianna who decided to leave. "It ultimately became KayDianna's choice," she said. "We had one conversation of honest feedback, and I think, maybe she didn't like that conversation. It was her choice, and it was sudden."

A Netflix producer did awkwardly ask whether she was fired, but the official stance — repeated by KayDianna and DCC management — was that her departure was voluntary, though it was clearly prompted by the fallout from the TikTok incident.

KayDianna did not attend the end-of-year banquet and shared her disappointment over not being able to celebrate with her teammates.

"I'm upset because I was part of it," she said. "I just wish I could have been there to celebrate with them."

What has KayDianna said about her departure from Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders?

After her departure, KayDianna addressed her fans and followers with an Instagram post.

"After prayerful consideration, I have made the decision to step away from my role with the Dallas Cowboys organisation. While this was not the ending I had envisioned, it is one I felt led to make for myself, in full faith and peace. I'm deeply grateful for four unforgettable seasons – filled with growth, meaningful friendships, and memories that will stay with me forever," she wrote.

"Though this door has closed, I trust fully in God's plan and the new doors he is preparing to open. I do not view this as a setback, but as a divine setup for what's next. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey – I look forward to sharing the next one with you."

Her message was met with support from fans and some former teammates, including Reece Weaver and Amanda Howard, but not many current DCC members have since interacted with her publicly.

Since leaving the DCC, KayDianna has focused on new ventures, including launching a podcast KayDianna's Korner, teaching dance classes, and working as a competition judge. She remains active on TikTok, where she continues to share her dance journey and speak about religion.
