Daisy Ridley just tried an at-home skincare remedy. It stained her face yellow.

Here’s one to avoid trying at home: using turmeric on your skin as a little DIY face mask.

Star Wars star Daisy Ridley has found herself in what we’d like to call a slight spot of bother, after googling at-home remedies for skin care. And she stumbled upon one that told her rubbing excessive amounts of turmeric in your skin could be good for it.

The actress has posted a fairly self-deprecating video to Instagram explaining the whole saga, admitting she may have gone a tad overboard and taken matters into her own hands when it came down to how liberal she was with its application.

“I googled at-home remedies for skin, and I may have been slightly liberal with the turmeric,” the actress said in her video.

The result? One pain-painstakingly yellow-stained face.

To make matters worse for the skin-care novice, she had filming the next day. And unfortunately for all involved, it was not for the new Minion movie. It was for Star Wars.

It’s not the first time the actress has taken to Instagram to give her fans an honest insight into her life.

In a raw and authentic Instagram post just last week, the Star Wars alumni admitted to suffering from some seated self-esteem issues, citing acne-riddled skin which stemmed from polycystic ovaries as a major cause for her insecurities.

At 15 I was diagnosed with endometriosis. One laparoscopy, many consultations and 8 years down the line, pain was back (more mild this time!) and my skin was THE WORST. I’ve tried everything: products, antibiotics, more products, more antibiotics) and all that did was left my body in a bit of a mess. Finally found out I have polycycstic ovaries and that’s why it’s bad. I can safely say feeling so self conscious has left my confidence in tatters. I hate wearing make up but I currently don’t want to leave the house without it on. HOWEVER PROGRESS IS BEING MADE! (With some help from a dermatologist and cutting out dairy (waah, except for spontaneous ice creams) and cutting down sugar (bigger waah but gotta do what you’ve gotta do)). Finally. Finally. (Throughout all this I’ve only had people being wonderful and encouraging and occasionally making me realise I’m being ridiculous and there’s more to life)… My point is, to any of you who are suffering with anything, go to a doctor; pay for a specialist; get your hormones tested, get allergy testing; keep on top of how your body is feeling and don’t worry about sounding like a hypochondriac. From your head to the tips of your toes we only have one body, let us all make sure ours our working in tip top condition, and take help if it’s needed. #wasthispostlongenough #maybethesehashtagscanbulkitupabit #alsohowmanybracketsdoesonewomanneed #ifyourereadingthisiapplaudyou #thisisaclaymaskincaseyourewondering A photo posted by @daisyridley on Jun 9, 2016 at 10:25am PDT

“I can safely say feeling so self conscious has left my confidence in tatters,” she wrote to her two million followers. “I hate wearing makeup but I currently don’t want to leave the house without it on.”

Ridley’s foray into home-remedy skin care may hint towards a desire to continue cleaning up her skin, with the actress writing earlier this month that’s she’s “tried everything” to fix it writing that she has used “products, antibiotics, more products, more antibiotics.”

Here’s hoping she can clear that skin up in time for work. And for those watching at home? Stick to your avocado and cucumber facials.
