Daenerys Targaryen/Queen Elsa/say wha?

Our Hero of the Week is Tumblr user Carrie Marie, who turned up to a cosplay convention dressed as Game of Thrones‘ Daenerys Targaryen, only to spend hours entertaining the children from a kid’s birthday party on another floor of the centre, because she looked suspiciously like Queen Elsa from Frozen.

Yeah – it was just that standard awkward moment when you turn up to a convention dressed as the Mother of Dragons from an R-rated show, only to have a bunch of seven-year-olds confuse you for a Disney princess. For those of you wondering how such a confusion could have occurred, here’s a comparison picture:

It does what it says on the tin. But, damn it, it’s a great tin:

Whinger of the Week goes to…

The parents complaining about penis lollies being sold in New Zealand.

In a freak accident at the gummy bear factory, a bunch of children have been sold gummy penises.

New Zealand confectionary company Dutch Rusk imported some Chinese lollies called ‘Dragon Sweets’. The sweets are a total hit in Asia.

Unfortunately, the sweets are also shaped like dicks.

Now, granted, this is bad. But let’s just look at what this mum had to say:

“I don’t find anything amusing about it at all. I find it disgusting.”

Really? You accidentally bought your kids gummy penises and you can’t find anything amusing about it?

Really?

Needless to say, apologies were made, gummies were sent back and replaced with non-penis gummies.
