It's the most wonderful time of the year. Ahem, goodbye Christmas… and hello awards season!
The 31st Annual Critics Choice Awards kicks off the 2026 season today.
Unlike some prestigious award shows this season, which are voted on by elitist boards like the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the Critics Choice Awards are chosen by over 600 film and television critics and reporters.
"Our voters are the critics and entertainment reporters who help audiences find the best of the best every day, all year long," CCA CEO Joey Berlin said. "Their collective opinions are the most informed and reliable in the business."
Ryan Coogler's American horror Sinners leads the nominations with 17 nods, nearly matching Barbie's record of 18.
Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, is close behind, earning 14 nominations.
Among those is a Best Actor nod for DiCaprio, joining Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme), Michael B. Jordan (Sinners), Joel Edgerton (Train Dreams), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon) and Wagner Moura (The Secret Agent).
Meanwhile, Jessie Buckley's performance in Hamnet earned her a nomination for Best Actress, alongside Rose Byrne (If I Had Legs I'd Kick You), Chase Infiniti (One Battle After Another), Renate Reinsve (Sentimental Value), Amanda Seyfried (The Testament of Ann Lee) andEmma Stone (Bugonia).
On the silver screen, Netflix's Adolesence is the frontrunner with six nominations, including a nod for Best Limited Series.
