Why everyone's suddenly milking the cow print trend.

Leopard print really had a moment last year. From runways to streetwear and accessories, this pattern dominated. It's bold, it's confident and yet it somehow works as a neutral.

But now leopard can moo-ve over (I'm so sorry, I'll see myself out for that pun) because the humble cow is somehow the must-have animal pattern of the season.

And I don't know how I feel about it. I prefer oat milk in my morning coffee.

This week, TikTok algorithms have been set ablaze by one pair of Adidas Originals Sambas in, you guessed it, cow print.

Sold exclusively in Australia through ASOS, these coveted viral kicks disappeared faster than a cow jumping over the moon. But fear not, you can get your hooves on a pair when they're back in stock in two weeks.

The Samba's cow cousin — Adidas Originals SL 72 OG sneakers — in a similar print also sold out in days.

But the craze doesn't stop at sneakers. Influencers everywhere are milking the trend, with cow print popping up everywhere.

And fashion houses like Dior, Bottega Veneta, Talia Byre, and Acne Studios have incorporated cow print into their collections, from handbags and heels to statement shearling coats.

But you want to get the balance right or you're at risk of looking like you're heading off to a rodeo rather than off for brunch.

If you are keen to jump on the trend, you want to choose one statement piece and pair it with a toned-down ensemble. And to avoid steering into Wild, Wild Western territory, the key is to balance the print with contemporary pieces. Think sleek black basics, your favourite denim, or some oversized tailoring.

This way, you're serving modern fashion icon rather than line-dancing enthusiast.

So do we think it's time to milk this trend for all it's worth?
