It’s been a big year for Australian singer-songwriter and guitarist Courtney Barnett.
After releasing her debut album Sometimes I Sit and Think and Sometimes I Just Sit in March, it was announced in December that Barnett has been nominated in the Best New Artist category at the 2016 Grammy Awards.
The surprise nomination — which sees Barnett alongside Meghan Trainor, Sam Hunt, Tori Kelly and James Bay — capped off a huge year for the 28-year-old Melbourne artist, who is one of the few Australian artists nominated for today’s awards.
