Jessica Gomes and Aaron Bairos were both born on 28th April, 1990, at a hospital in Massachusetts. More than two decades later, they have exchanged vows and said “I do” to each other.
What’s even more extraordinary is that according to a newspaper snippet kept by Gomes’ Grandma, the two were the only two babies born to the Morton Hospital in Taunton on that day.
Although they did not actually grow up together, the two met in 2007 through mutual friends whilst attending rival schools in Taunton.
The two discovered they had the same birthdate when taking a drivers education class together, and soon after realised they were also born in the same hospital.
Talking to Tauton Gazette, the bride said “pretty early on we figured it out…We told our parents and they even remembered having said hi to each other at the hospital.
“I think it’s awesome. It’s a pretty rare thing…I believe in fate and I think that’s part of it.”
The couple married nearly one month ago on September 9th, at the Holy Family Church in East Taunton where five generations of Jess’s family have married there before her.
Jessica, who is a nurse practitioner, said to People, “we hope our story can bring a smile to people’s faces, because that’s what the world needs right now”.
