The father of one-punch victim Cole Miller remembers his 'brave' son.

The father of 18-year-old Cole Miller who died yesterday has delivered an emotional tribute to his late son.

Miller died of head injuries sustained in a random act of violence in Brisbane over the long weekend.

Steven Miller spoke briefly to the media last night after police confirmed the Miller family had made the difficult decision to turn the teenager’s life support off.

“It is with deep sadness that I announce that our 18-year-old son Cole has today passed away as a result of massive brain trauma,” Mr Miller told the press.

“He has struggled bravely in the intensive care unit of the Royal Brisbane Hospital and our family and many close friends have been by his bedside since the incident.”

“Cole was a beautiful, brave young man with his whole life yet to be lived,” Miller said.

The two men charged over the alleged attack will face the Brisbane Magistrates Court today after their charges were upgraded to unlawful striking causing death overnight.

The charges laid against Daniel Maxwell and Armstrong Renata carry a maximum penalty of life in prison.
