But the cake-makers say it’s just the teddy bear’s seam.
A woman in the United Kingdom is demanding a refund for a christening cake because the teddy bear cake-toppers have “vaginas”.
Mother-of-three Sharon Green was “appalled” to discover the £60 cake she picked up for her three-year-old daughter’s christening, which she ordered in January from Occasion Cakes in Bolton, had a “crease” that looked like female genitalia.
Here is a version of the christening cake Mrs Green picked up (just imagine the teddies decked out in pink):
Mrs Green said the cake she picked up two days before the event was different to the original display model, which did not have creases.
“It is completely inappropriate. The cake is supposed to be for a three-year-old girl,” the 45-year-old told The Bolton News.
“It is not just me who thought this, it was a talking point at the christening – everyone was commenting on it.”
The mother from Standish then complained on the cake store’s Facebook page, calling the cake’s detailing “offensive and completely inappropriate”, and asked for a refund.
But the cake shop has hit back at the mother’s claims and denied her refund request, saying the line on the teddy bears‘ stomachs was supposed to represent the seam where the bears had been sewn together.
