The two moments that shocked even Chrishell Stause at the Love Triangle reunion.

Listen, we all know reality TV reunions can get spicy, but when Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause took up hosting duties for the Love Triangle season 3 reunion, she gave us what we've all been waiting WEEKS to see… accountability.

With so many unanswered questions and so much unseen footage, it all came to a head at the reunion. And it was MESSY, to say the least. Between panic attacks, walkouts, and the gaslighting behaviour that's become a reality TV classic

So we caught up with the reality star turned reunion host to get all the behind-the-scenes details that the cameras didn't capture.

Having been on the receiving end of tough questions during her own reality TV career, Chrishell found herself much more comfortable in the host role, where she was able to turn the tables on contestants who probably thought they were in for an easy ride.

"I've been in the hot seat so many times, and so I felt way more comfortable," she told Mamamia.

"I've been in the chair where arrows are all coming this way. So to try and break people up and get people to listen felt natural. I feel like in real life I'm a little bit more of like, the peacemaker."

It's safe to say that there were some pretty huge bombshells that dropped at the reunion. But for Chrishell, there were two jaw-dropping moments that even she wasn't prepared for.

"I knew that Bernie and Chloe were together before I came out and started hosting a reunion. But them telling the cast — who didn't know at that moment — and seeing the cast's reaction to that was pretty jaw-dropping. Tied only next to the found footage with Jordan and Payton," she explained.

"It was a triangle that became a square situation, which has never happened on the show. I would probably have to hand it to one of those moments."

After hours of emotional confrontations that would make anyone cringe, you might wonder if everyone just hugged it out once the cameras stopped rolling. Well… apparently not. According to Chrishell, the post-filming atmosphere was icy.

"It was really tense and awkward. It wasn't a situation where everybody wants to stand next to each other and take a picture. It's just kind of awkward and tense," Chrishell said.

One particularly awkward moment came when Bernie tried to flip the script and paint himself as the victim, even going as far as to direct his anger at Chrishell herself. But that was not going to work — she's dealt with enough reality TV troublemakers to spot the classic deflection tactics from a mile away.

"It wasn't super surprising for someone like him to want to become the victim. I just kind of see through him. I see through the BS," Chrishell said, not mincing words. "I don't think he's a bad person, but I think he's in this phase in his life where he's gotten away with a lot because he can be charming."

Thankfully, Chrishell had no problem calling out his behaviour, and quickly served up a long-overdue reality check for Bernie.

"It was kind of nice to be able to say, 'Listen, just own that behaviour. Say you're not looking for love. I did just want to have a good time.'"

Perhaps the most difficult moment of the reunion came when producers played the previously-aired footage of Jordan making derogatory comments about Payton — while she was sitting right there, blissfully unaware of the bombshell about to drop.

"That was so heartbreaking. It was one of those situations where I hated having to put her in that position, but I also actively very much wanted to show it to her because I hated seeing his arm around her," Chrishell explained.

"It was heartbreaking to watch her try and process that in the moment. It's a lot to process. So my heart just went out to her, and I was just really kind of rooting for her to find herself and find her confidence."

But when it came to owning up to bad behaviour, not everyone passed Chrishell's accountability test. For some people, the reunion essentially became a masterclass in watching grown adults squirm when confronted with their own words and actions — some owned it, while others dove for the nearest exit.

"Oh, we definitely had people that didn't acknowledge their behaviour," she said.

"You've got some people like Mike, for instance. I think Mike means well, but he shuts down a little bit when he feels on defence."

On the extreme end was Jordan, who Chrishell suggests was only apologising for the cameras.

"It was very obvious it was strictly for clout. He knew how bad he was gonna look on the show."

When asked about the best approach to the show's unique premise of forcing three people into an emotional pressure cooker and seeing who cracks first, Chrishell emphasised the importance of keeping an open mind — a novel concept for some contestants.

"I definitely think there are things you shouldn't do that people did. As far as Bernie just writing people off as soon as he saw what they look like… that's what you shouldn't do," she pointed out, calling out the superficial judgments that seemed to plague this season. Her advice?

"I would say what to do is to just really try and stay open, because speaking from experience, if I filled out a formula on an app, I wouldn't have found my soul mate."

Take notes, future reality dating show contestants — this is the wisdom of someone who's been there, done that, and is living proof that love exists.

One thing's for sure — with Chrishell at the helm, no one was getting away with dodging the tough questions. The Love Triangle reunion proved that sometimes the most explosive part of reality TV isn't the show itself, but what happens when everyone is forced to watch their behaviour played back to them.

And if there's another season in the works, we're nominating Chrishell for permanent reunion host duties. She can smell lies from a mile away and isn't afraid to tell it as it is, which is exactly what reality TV could use a little more of.
