'Chrishell Stause just told us how she knew G Flip was the one.'

Dating apps were never going to work for Chrishell Stause.

"I think I'm the perfect person to say, if I was filling out a formula on an app, I would have missed my soulmate," she told Mamamia.

The Selling Sunset alum has been married to singer G Flip for almost a year now. After meeting at a Halloween party in 2021, Chrishell knew they were the one instantly.

"It was probably the easiest thing that I've ever had to know," she said. "Dating always felt so hard… like I need to work harder, I need to make this work. And then I really feel like, once I found my person, it just kind of… it's not that hard; it was the easiest thing."

But she puts it all down to G.

"I can't take any credit for it. If you met G for five minutes, they're the most beautiful human being ever. We just gel, unlike anything I've ever had. We have that consistency and things like that, it's hard to find that."

Ahh yes, consistency. It's the 43-year-old's biggest green flag.

"Back when you're young, you're not thinking things that like that get you going. But you know what gets me going? Consistency. When somebody's just consistent, it's so sexy to me. You don't have to worry about where they're coming from, you just know the person, and you could basically predict how they're going to react to something. I love that in a human being."

Second to consistency for Chrishell in a relationship is honesty.

"Sometimes the truth hurts, but it's so much better when somebody can level with you… like if you would have just told the truth from the beginning, we could have worked with that."

As for her red flags, "lying, obviously" and any "F-Boy tendencies".

In fact, that's the behaviour she is ready to put in check as the host of season three of The Stan Original Dating Series Love Triangle.

From the producers of Married at First Sight, Love Triangle sees singles choose between two unseen suitors. After moving in with their first pick, their second arrives, sparking drama, passion and heartbreak.

"If there's a red flag, it's on our show," Chrishell said with a laugh. "A lot of love-bombing and gaslighting."

But the host will not be sitting idly by as it happens.

"My role is to make sure nobody tries to get away with anything," she said. "No squirming out of answers. We need some accountability. I definitely wanted to try and stay impartial, and really call it like I see it."

Of course, from MAFS to Love Is Blind to Love Island, there are plenty of dating shows on our screens, so what sets Love Triangle apart?

For Chrishell, who is a self-proclaimed "reality television junkie", this show makes contestants forget about the physical.

"It starts off sight unseen," Chrishell said of the show. "The whole idea is to look past superficial dating markers that everyone looks at. And give this experiment a chance to work, regardless of if this is somebody that you would have swiped on. Give this relationship a chance. Get to know each other, see how you feel after.

"I really love this concept of getting out of our heads, and caring about certain things, hair colour or height or something like that, that actually has nothing to do with the person."

But looking at the success rate of similar dating shows, can true love truly be found in this format?

Well, Chrishell says that may not be the point. At least, not fully.

"Of course, I'm rooting for love," Chrishell told Mamamia. "I'm a big lover girl. That being said, even if it's a situation where it ends in a huge, fiery crash, which we have plenty of, I think it's also interesting for people to watch it, and be able to watch for these markers because, in the dating world, it is a land mine.

"To watch these patterns that have previously gone unchecked, to get a bird's eye view, I think it's really interesting, because it's going to help people pick that up quicker, the lovebombing, the gas lighting. We see it all in the season, let me tell you. It's basically a PSA, watch the show before you venture out because it's scary out there."

At the end of the day, Chrishell hopes Love Triangle viewers take away some lessons from the show, and have some fun while doing it.

"I hope they kind of are able to see themselves, like, 'Oh, I wonder if I am a little more open-minded in love and not so set in my ways. What could happen?' It's also fun, juicy television at the same time."

The first two episodes of the Stan Original Series Love Triangle Season 3 premiere this Sunday, followed by a brand new episode every Sunday, only on Stan. Every episode of seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming.
