Until this week, Instagram user Honey Basra looked like any young woman ‘living her best life’ on the social media platform.
The only problem was – it wasn’t her life.
For two years the Instagram user, whose true identity and motivations are not known, had been recreating the posts of young Scottish woman, Chloe Cowan.
This was not just simple copycat behaviour - the images looked near-identical, down to the smallest detail.
Her poses, accessories, clothes, locations and captions were all as close to the same as Chloe's as possible.
Chloe's older sister Linzi Cowan shared the discovery on Facebook this week to warn people of the "dangers of social media".
In the since-deleted post, Linzi said that it appeared the copycat - who is only known by her Instagram handle "honeybasra18xo" was living in the coastal city of Dundee, where Chloe goes to university. The two had never met to Chloe's knowledge.
Yet as Linzi put it, the young woman had been "reenacting Chloe's life on Instagram" for almost two years, which the student discovered only this week.
'This girl's stalking behaviour is to the extreme of reenacting videos of a photo album that Chloe posted of my dad who past [sic] away (gives me the shivers when I think about it)," Linzi wrote.
She explained the young woman had taken measures to avoid being caught, creating a fake account to follow Chloe with.
"Her behaviour is not ok and I just wanted this out in the open for people to be aware of just how scary social media can be.
"My sister should not have to hide away in worry of her every move being stalked by another girl! Imitation is flattering but this is just too far!"
Linzi's post was shared widely before it was deleted. In it, Linzi accused the young woman of stalking, but according to the Daily Mail, it is not clear whether the matter has been reported to local police or not.
The copycat account has also been deleted.
