Mother horrified to discover a symbol for paedophiles on her daughter's new toy.

A mother was horrified to discover that the stuffed toy she bought for her two-year-old daughter had an international symbol for paedophiles.

The symbol, a smaller heart hidden in a larger one, is considered the calling card for paedophiles attracted to girls. The male version boasts a similar design but inside a triangle.

She was alerted to the true meaning of the design by her older daughter, who recognized it from an episode of Law and Order: SVU.

The toy had been bought at the monster truck rally in Tampa, Florida.

The symbols are said to be known internationally and have been collated in what appears to be an FBI document hosted on the site Wikileaks.

The mother, Nicole O’Kelly, spoke to Channel 8 News about the ordeal.

“I’m absolutely sick. I bought this for my two-year-old little girl. This toy was made for little girls. I wanted answers,” O’Kelly said.

Even more horrifying for the mother was how the toy was being marketed towards girls at the largely male monster truck event.

“This is pink,” she said.

“This is geared towards little girls, especially at a predominately male event.”

The company behind the toys, Feld Inc, issued a statement regarding the recall.

“We’re shocked. We had no idea. We reacted immediately. We wanted to do the right thing as quickly as possible. Clearly we’re in the business… providing high quality family entertainment. This was really obscure. Until yesterday, I had no idea there was an underlying meaning of these symbols and the deplorable behavior.”

The toys have since been pulled from shelves and attendees of the Monster Jam event on January 16th or February 6th have been asked to contact detectives.
