PASS IT ON: Batches of Children's Panadol have been recalled after contamination.

A number of Children’s Panadol products are being urgently recalled.

The recall comes following a consumer alert being issues by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) on Thursday, which advises parents that batches of Children’s Panadol 5-12 years in 200mL are being recalled.

“It has been identified that an ingredient used in the manufacture of these medicines may have been contaminated with small particles that could contain trace minerals and inert fibres,” the TGA’s consumer alert reads.

“The quantity of these particles would be small and they may not be visible in the product. If this occurs, there is a very low risk of allergic reaction and there is also potential for the medicine to be less effective over time.”

How to check if your Children's Panadol product is part of this recall.

The expiry date for all recalled products is February 2018.

The affected batches have batch numbers 136418, 136444 and 136443.

Both the expiry date and the batch number are located at the bottom of the Children's Panadol bottle label, as well as on the base of the packaging if you still have that.

What to do if your Children's Panadol is within these effected batches.

Firstly, stop using the product immediately and ensure it is out of reach to all children.

Your bottle can then be returned to the place of purchase for a refund. A receipt or other proof of purchase is not required.

All stockists of Children's Panadol have been issued the batch numbers and are removing effected stock from their shelves immediately.
