Rebekah saw a friend's boyfriend with another woman. How could she have been wrong?

This week, an American university student named Rebekah reminded us all what a true hero looks like.

You see, Rebekah found herself sitting in the library, minding her own business, until something caught her eye.

Slightly to her right, she noticed a young man and a woman being quite touchy-feely. He had his hand on her knee, and it was clear the pair were romantically involved.

Which would be fine. Except it wasn’t fine at all.

Rebekah recognised the young man. And she knew he wasn’t single.

She faced quite the dilemma, because his girlfriend was not a person she knew particularly well. In fact, they were pretty much just Twitter acquaintances.

But that did not stop Rebekah.

She messaged Jasmine on Twitter and said, “Hey girl, I know we don’t know each other, just been mutuals on Twitter for a little bit…

“But I recognise who I think is your boyfriend in the library from pictures on here and he’s with a girl and he’s being kind of touchy with her.

“I didn’t really know if I should message you/how to tell you but I have been full on cheated on before and girl to girl I’d want to know. I hope this doesn’t cause you a lot of problems. I feel really bad but I just thought it’d be wrong to witness it and not say anything, you know?

“Tell me if you want me to fight him. I’ll be here a while.”

Every woman needs a Rebekah in their life and that is a scientific fact.

But when Jasmine opened the direct message, along with a photograph Rebekah had sneakily taken, she couldn’t help but laugh.

Because the man in the picture was not her boyfriend. In fact, her boyfriend was sitting right next to her.

It was her boyfriend’s identical twin brother, with his girlfriend.

Oh... Image via Twitter.

Jasmine replied by thanking her for being so honest, but explained the mix up.

The whole of Twitter is now declaring their love for Rebekah - the friend (... or mild acquaintance) we all wish we had.
