This week, four members of Mamamia's editorial team trial Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint Hydrating Foundation Stick.

If you know anything about beauty, you'll know Charlotte Tilbury makes some very good makeup that has a habit of making its way into the class of Holy Grail (looking at you, Pillow Talk Lipstick and Flawless Filter).

Watch: Speaking of foundations, let's revisit the time I tried the 10-pump foundation hack. Post continues below.

So when the new Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint Hydrating Foundation Stick range sauntered its way across to Mamamia's lifestyle team, you're going to bet it was met with squeals of delight.

At $46, these foundation sticks come in 20 different shades. Offering buildable, sheer-to-light coverage, these newbies promise a 'ring light effect' built into a moisturizing formula for a natural-looking 'no foundation' result.

So, does it really live up to the hype? We put it to the test.

"When I swatch tested the foundation sticks, I was a bit nervous. They looked… real shiny — almost like a highlighter. Putting it on my face was a whole other story. I used the shades 10 TAN and 9 TAN mixed together and my skin looked INCREDIBLE. So glowy. so hydrated. I got so many compliments when I walked into the office. But wait! THIS FOUNDATION IS NOT FOR THE OILY GIRLIES.

"By the end of the day (around six hours later), I looked… wet. My skin is pretty oily, so I knew this foundation was a bit of a gamble and I was right. I looked like I had applied an oil on my face by the of the day and when I tried to blot, the foundation came off with it. This is a great everyday quick application if you’re going out for a few hours but I wouldn’t recommend it for a long-lasting use if you have oily or combination skin."

"When I first unboxed the Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint Hydrating Foundation Stick, I was slightly apprehensive. It looked very sheer and shimmery and I didn’t know how well it would translate on the skin. But when I applied it, I was proven very wrong. All it took was a few swipes and my fingers and all of my redness and blotchiness was covered while still looking extremely natural.

"Everyone in the office kept asking me what skincare I’m using and telling me I looked radiant, but the only thing I did differently that day was use this foundation. It has since become my go-to everyday foundation. It’s weightless, lasts well and doesn’t accentuate any dry patches on my skin. I love it! I use the shade 5 Medium."

Cassandra Green, Morning Editor.

"As someone who usually opts for a thin, watery foundation I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about using a foundation stick. Luckily, this Charlotte Tilbury formula is very sheer and also semi-buildable. It felt nearly weightless on my skin, which is how I like my base. If you're looking for glow, this is a brilliant option for you.

"The luminous finish felt hydrating and made my skin look very youthful. Safe to say that this would be an easy base for those with mature complexions. Cream products blend beautifully over the top of this tint, but I would advise against using a water-based primer as it is an oil-infused formula. Keeping oils with oils and waters with waters will help to prevent the foundation from separating (which it did when I accidentally used a water-based primer the first time).

"The stick format makes it easy to apply and I feel that this will be my new day-to-day foundation for when I want to even out my skin tone and give the complexion a little life without feeling overly 'made up'. Clean girl makeup fans, this could just be your next holy grail."

"With words like 'HYDRATION', 'MAGIC', 'SHEER' and 'GLOW' this product sounds like it was literally made for my little dry mug. I've also recently become obsessed with foundation stick formulas because they're so easy to apply/take everywhere with you — so yeah, I was a wee bit excited to give it a whirl.

"I was instantly impressed by how lightweight, sheer and blendable the cream formula felt on my skin — I whacked it on straight from the stick and blended it into my skin with my fingers and it made my face just look like a better, healthier version of itself. I tried the shade 1.5 and the finish was VERY glowy. Almost Flawless Filter-level. I was wearing a glow-giving primer underneath, so this may have escalated the glow into a whole other galaxy (she was SHINY).

"Bordering Tin Man, I ended up adding a teeny tiny drop of my other foundation on top — the finish was glorious. The textbook definition of lit-from-within glow. It also lasted really on my skin throughout the day, with no patchiness, flaky skin or any of that garbage.

"Here's me in a cab at 2pm:

"See? Still on my face! Next time I try it, I'll probably ditch the illuminating primer and go with something general so I don't have to add coverage on top. All in all, though, such a beautiful everyday formula and one I know I'll have on regular rotation."
