'Get over it.' The famous fathers who have frosty relationships with their kids.

Celebrities are people just like us and it means that sometimes, they get into feuds with their family members — even with their own kids.

But in rare cases, these feuds can turn into fully-fledged hatred of their mother or father.

Most recently, Sir Anthony Hopkins shared some choice remarks about his daughter, Abigail Hopkins. He suggested he had little interest in mending their decades-long feud, suggesting she should simply, umm 'get over it'.

So, what's the latest with Anthony and Abigail, and what have other kids said about their famous parents? Let's dive in.

Sir Anthony Hopkins has had a decades-long estrangement from his only child, daughter Abigail Hopkins, largely stemming from him leaving the family when she was a baby due to his alcoholism and the breakdown of his first marriage to British actress, Petronella Barker.

In his memoir, he wrote that his lack of contact with Abigail is "the saddest fact of my life" and his "greatest regret." He stated that Abigail "never seemed able to forgive me for leaving."

But Hopkins has also expressed a seemingly cold detachment from his only child. In a 2018 interview, when asked if he was a grandfather, he replied, "I don't have any idea... I don't care one way or the other," saying, "life is cold."

He later wrote in his memoir We Did OK, Kid that those comments were from a "regrettable interview" and wrote that his "door is always open" to his daughter.

However, he's seemingly backtracked again. In October 2025, he said he had tried to reach out to her, but got no response, so has decided to stop trying.

"I wish her well, but I'm not going to waste blood over that. If you want to waste your life being in resentment, fine, go ahead," he told The New York Times podcast, The Interview.

"Life is painful. Sometimes people get hurt. Sometimes we get hurt. But you can't live like that. You have to say, 'Get over it.' And if you can't get over it, fine, good luck to you."

It's been a turbulent few years for Brad Pitt and his six children, who he hasn't been photographed with since Jolie filed for divorce in 2016.

In recent years, both Zahara Jolie and Shiloh Jolie have decided to drop their father's surname.

But the most vocal of his kids has to be son, Pax Jolie-Pitt, who has previously shared his hatred for his dad online. Back in 2020, Pax shared a dedication to his private account on Father's Day.

Posting a photo of Pitt accepting an Oscar, Pax wrote "Happy Father's Day to this world-class a**hole!! You time and time again prove yourself to be a terrible and despicable person," he began.

"You have no consideration or empathy toward your four youngest children who tremble in fear when in your presence," Pax added, referring to Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox.

"You may tell yourself and the world whatever you want, but the truth will come to light someday. So, Happy Father's Day, you f**king awful human being!!!"

Alec Baldwin and his daughter, Ireland Baldwin, are on better terms now, but it wasn't always this way.

There has been a long period of estrangement after the divorce between Alec and Ireland's mother, Kim Basinger.

Their public feud largely stems from a 2007 leaked voicemail. During a bitter custody battle with Basinger, Alec left a voice message for Ireland, calling her a "rude, thoughtless little pig" for missing a scheduled phone call.

At the time, Ireland was… just an 11-year-old girl.

Thankfully, their relationship shifted in her older years.

Alec has since expressed regret, describing the divorce's negative impact on his relationship with Ireland as one of his biggest mistakes.

Ireland has praised Alec's current wife, Hilaria Baldwin, writing on her Instagram that she "saved my dad's life" and is the reason she has a close relationship with him and her seven half-siblings, Carmen, Rafael, Leonardo, Romeo, Eduardo, María and Ilaria.

The daughter of Elon Musk, Vivian Wilson, has come out swinging against her billionaire father after he made transphobic comments about her.

Wilson is one of six children that Musk had with his first wife, Justine Wilson.

In 2022, she filed a petition in Los Angeles County Superior Court to legally change her name and gender. In the filing, she said she no longer wished "to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form."

Vivian then fired back after Musk made bigoted comments about her gender. In an interview with controversial commentator Jordan Peterson, Musk said "I lost my son. They call it 'deadnaming' for a reason," he said. "The reason it's called 'deadnaming' is because, your son is dead. So my son is dead, killed by the woke mind virus."

Elon had previously tweeted stereotypes of queer people by saying that Vivian would say words like 'fabulous," as a child and developed a love of musical theatre.

Vivian posted on Threads to debunk basically everything Musk has said about her.

"This entire thing is completely made up and there's a reason for this. He doesn't know what I was like as a child because he quite simply wasn't there, and in the little time that he was I was relentlessly harassed for my femininity and queerness," Wilson wrote.

"Obviously he can't say that, so I've been reduced to a happy little stereotype... I think that says a lot about how he views queer people and children in general."

All up, the tech mogul has at least 14 children with four women, including three kids he shares with singer Grimes named X Æ A-Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl and Techno Mechanicus. The couple broke up in March 2022.

Since Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus got divorced in 2022, there's been growing tension between the parents and their kids. And given her social media activity, it looked like Miley pledged her allegiance to her mother, Tish.

At the same time, Miley started to make disparaging remarks about her father. When she appeared on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman, Miley told the host she had "inherited the narcissism from my father".

More recently, Miley and Billy Ray are on a better path.

"My dad and I have had our challenges over the years," she wrote in an Instagram Story posted in May 2025. "Now, in my thirties, family is my priority above all else. I'm at peace knowing bridges have been built and time has done a lot of healing."

Speaking to CBS News Sunday Morning, Miley admitted she wrote Billy Ray a song called 'Secrets' to share her feelings.

She said he cried when she gave him the song for his birthday, calling it a "peace offering" and explaining that they "communicate better through song" than talking things through.

Woody Allen and his children, Dylan and Ronan Farrow.

When it comes to family feuds, you don't get much more divisive than the Allens and Farrows.

Dylan and Ronan Farrow's animosity toward their father, director Woody Allen, largely stems from Dylan's allegations of sexual abuse when she was a child. Dylan has consistently maintained that Allen molested her in 1992 when she was seven years old, an accusation that Allen vehemently denies.

Investigative journalist Ronan Farrow has been a staunch supporter of his sister, publicly defending her allegations, along with sharing his discomfort with his father's relationship with Soon-Yi Previn, Mia Farrow's adopted daughter.

During the 2014 Golden Globes when Allen was honoured with a lifetime achievement award, Ronan tweeted at the time "Missed the Woody Allen tribute - did they put the part where a woman publicly confirmed he molested her at age 7 before or after Annie Hall?"

During the ceremony, Dylan tweeted a similar statement. Then in 2017, she penned an op-ed for the Los Angeles Times where she spoke further about her allegations which were then reexamined in the 2021 documentary Allen v. Farrow.

Allen continues to deny the allegations.

Jackie Chan and his daughter, Etta Ng.

Jackie Chan's daughter Etta Ng has been estranged from her father for years.

Etta was born in 1999 as a result of an affair Jackie Chan had with former beauty queen Elaine Ng Yi-Lei while he was married to his wife Joan Lin.

Chan reportedly cut off contact with Elaine and Etta as soon as he learned of the pregnancy.

In 2015, Etta confirmed she had no relationship with Chan. "He is my biological father but he is not in my life. He never existed in my life. I will never regard him as a father," she told E! News.

"I am not angry with my father, and have never wished to see him. As long as I have my mother with me, I don't need my father."

Jackie Chan has never publicly acknowledged Etta as his daughter.
