From Jessie and Channing to Kyle and Imogen: The most talked about celebrity break ups of 2019.

Well.

It’s been a big year for celebrity breakups. From local celebrities Kyle Sandilands and Imogen Anthony to the unexpected ending of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth, we’ve witnessed the breakdown of some of our favourite well-known couples.

We began the year with Khloé Kardashian’s split from Tristan Thompson and have ended with Channing Tatum and Jessie J’s pre-Christmas parting.

And so before we farewell the year, we want to take one last trip down memory lane to reminisce on the eight most high-profile splits of 2019.

Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson

In February 2019, a cheating scandal broke out in the Kar-Jenner clan that spelled the end of Khloe Kardashian's relationship with the father of her daughter, Tristan Thompson.

For a quick recap: Jordyn Woods, best friend’s with Kylie Jenner, kissed Tristan Thompson, the partner of Khloe Kardashian. Not only did Khloe and Tristan subsequently split, but so too did Kylie and Jordyn.

When the news broke, it dominated headlines for weeks, if not months.

But although Khloe was furious at the time, she has since revealed that all is now forgiven as she continues to co-parent her daughter True with her ex.

Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk

In June, Bradley Cooper and his girlfriend of four years, model Irina Shayk, split. The two share a two-year-old daughter together, Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper.

"They haven’t been good for a few months and Irina decided it would be best if she moved into her own place," a source at the time told The Sun. 

Following the announcement, it didn’t take long for everyone to start whispering two little words: Lady Gaga.

For months, there had been speculation that Cooper and his A Star Is Born co-star Gaga were secretly in love.

At the time of filming the two actors were both in relationships, but circumstances changed mere months after the film’s release. However both Gaga and Cooper have denied all rumours of their suspected romance.

Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter

In August, The Hills stars Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter announced their breakup.

Although the couple had a wedding ceremony, it was later revealed they never actually got married. In fact, their 2018 Thailand ceremony was not legally recognised in America.

During their time on The Hills, Jenner called Carter a “psychopath” and “nightmare” during an argument about him coming home late.

They also seemed to be on different pages when it came to having kids. “While I don’t have kids,” Jenner said in a confessional on the show, “I’m gonna pretty much do what I wanna do and live for myself, as opposed to live for another human being. I think that’s why she wants kids, she wants me to change in that way.”

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth

In August, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth separated after less than one year of marriage together.

"Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers," a statement made to People read.

"They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy."

Since then, Miley Cyrus has been in two highly-publicised relationships. Firstly, she dated Kaitlynn Carter who was also fresh from her breakup with Brody Jenner. In September, after a few weeks together, their summer romance ended. She is now dating Australian singer Cody Simpson.

Kyle Sandilands and Imogen Anthony

KIIS 1065 presenter Kyle Sandilands confirmed in November that he has split with his girlfriend of seven years, Imogen Anthony.

"We haven’t been living together for a few months, quite a few months, unfortunately, it’s run its course," he said on The Kyle and Jackie O Show at the time.

"We have a lot to deal with separately... it's been one of the hardest years of our lives, separately. I've got so much family stuff, and you know, there's so much health stuff involved between us, and there's... we just kind of want to... get ourselves into the best form of ourselves that we can be, without kind of pissing in each other's pockets," Anthony later told her followers on Instagram.

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott also called it quits this year, announcing the news in October.

The high-profile pair, who share 22-month-old daughter Stormi Webster, had been together for two years at the time of their breakup.

Their breakup was filled with rumours that the billionaire uncovered "evidence" that Travis had been cheating her. Although the rapper denied those claims.

Kylie Jenner has since been linked to Drake.

Matt Agnew and Chelsie McLeod

Matt Agnew and Chelsie McLeod were The Bachelor golden couple of the year. The two scientists, with a penchant for chemistry and a shared love for Oxytocin, seemed like a perfect match.

But in November, two months after the finale of The Bachelor aired, the couple ended their relationship.

"For Chels and me, our relationship hasn’t translated from filming to the real, every day world as we had hoped," the astrophysicist wrote on his Instagram.

"I’m sorry to those that were invested in our relationship," Chelsie said in her own statement on Instagram.

Since then, whispers have been aplenty that the split was not mutual and was not initiated by Matt.

"I do not deal with heartbreak well and yeah, my heart is broken and heartbreak sucks," Chelsie said in December.

Channing Tatum and Jessie J

Jessie J and Channing Tatum reportedly broke up in November after a little over a year of dating.

The split didn't go public until US Weekly published the news on December 19, though neither the 31-year-old singer nor 39-year-old actor has commented publicly.

The pair got together around August 2018, following the end of Tatum's 9-year marriage to Jenna Dewan, with whom he shares a six-year-old daughter.
