1. MAFS’ Cathy had to pay for parts of her own fake wedding.

Married At First Sight may have finished but that doesn’t mean the contestants are going to stay out of the celebrity news cycle. Of course not. They would like to continue to spill the tea on the controversial season, so grab some napkins and pull up a chair. We have goss.

Contestant Cathy Evans has shared exactly what expenses the MAFS production team covered for her [fake] wedding day.

“What they’d given us was definitely enough to cover just your basic needs,” the reality star recalled in a video on her new IGTV channel, where she has nearly 200,000 followers.

“With that money, I couldn’t get my hair done, or a spray tan or my nails done or anything like that. That was something I had to look after but they looked after accessories, the bridesmaids dresses and my own dress. My dress was from Mariana Hardwick.”

She added that she was able to keep the dress, and said she has decided to not sell it.

As for the wedding day, Cathy says she “didn’t get to plan or choose where my wedding was,” however added that she could tell the producers her preferences with what location and setting she wanted.

Cathy married Josh Pihlak on Married At First Sight, and the two broke up while filming.

2. Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell have shared footage from their wedding special. And we’re trying to keep it together.

Days before the  COVID-19 restrictions around weddings came into force in Australia, Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell called off their lavish wedding event and instead held a spur-of-the-moment ceremony at Australia Zoo.

Now, for all the die-hard romantics out there, Crikey! It’s the Irwins: Bindi’s Wedding will be available to watch in Australia from Saturday, July 18, at 6:30pm on Animal Planet, via Foxtel.

The episode will bring an exclusive look at the wedding preparations and the ups-and-downs the couple faced along the way — notably, a global pandemic.

“We’re sharing every beautiful, challenging and special moment with you during this episode,” Irwin wrote alongside a trailer for the special, posted to her Instagram.

“I already have happy tears.”

The clip begins with footage of Bindi’s father, the late crocodile hunter Steve Irwin, playing with his daughter at a young age.

Bindi’s mum, Terri Irwin, says in the clip: “I know that Steve would be proud and pretty sure he’d be crying.”

The 21-year-old’s brother, Robert Irwin, is also seen walking his sister down the aisle, explaining to the camera that “it means so much” to do that for his sister.

The special will certainly be a tear-jerker. Grab the tissues.

3. “I feel very mean”: Even the future Queen Consort of England lies to her kids.

The Duchess Formerly Known as Kate Middleton has opened up about life in isolation. Speaking to the BBC, the Royal spoke about refocusing on the simpler things in life as well as how her family is coping at home.

“I think this time of slowing down has made us refocus the simple things that are more important in life. Stopping and listening, looking out for each other, simple acts of kindness and things like that. That’s so important,” she shared.

But after reflecting on this uncertain time, Middleton reminded us that, just like the rest of us, she lies to her kids.

When explaining how homeschooling is going, she shared a little secret with the whole wide world: they have continued schooling during the school holidays.

She said, “Don’t tell the children, we’ve actually kept it going through the holidays. I feel very mean. The children have got such stamina, I don’t know how.

“It’s just having that bit of structure actually. And it’s great, there’s so many great tips online and fun activities that you can do with the children, so it hasn’t been all hardcore.”

Further along in the video, Prince William made an appearance when asked how he felt after his father, Prince Charles, was diagnosed with coronavirus.

“‘I have to admit, at first I was quite concerned, he fits the profile of somebody, at the age he is at, which is fairly risky,” the Duke said.

But as Prince Charles has recovered from various colds in the past, he remained optimistic.

“My father has had many chest infections, colds, and things like that over the years. And so, I thought to myself, if anybody is going to be able to beat this, it’s going to be him,” he said.

4. Reese Witherspoon reflects on that “embarrassing” 2013 arrest.

It’s been seven years, but Reese Witherspoon still feels uncomfortable about that time she was arrested.

When appearing on Jameela Jamil’s podcast, I Weigh with Jameela Jamil, the Big Little Lies actress called her infamous run-in with the cops, “embarrassing and dumb.”

Jamil began by stating, “You apologised and shamed yourself in a way that was so f***ing refreshing to me. I loved your apology.”

But while Jamil found it refreshing, Witherspoon explained that she felt otherwise.

“But I did something really stupid,” Witherspoon began.

“It was so embarrassing and dumb,” she continued. “But, you know what — [it] turns out I breathe air. I bleed the same way. I make dumb decisions. I make great decisions. I’m just a human being.

“We’re all just the same as each other and we’re all trying to find what our special skills are. My special skill is storytelling but that doesn’t mean I’m a special person.”

The incident that led to Witherspoon’s arrest happened in April 2013.

She and her husband, Jim Toth, were pulled over under suspicion of driving while intoxicated in Atlanta, Georgia. And when Witherspoon exited the car after being told to remain inside, she was arrested.

As obtained by People, her statement after the incident wrote, “Out of respect for the ongoing legal situation, I cannot comment on everything that is being reported right now. But I do want to say, I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said.”

It continued, “It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. The words I used that night definitely do not reflect who I am. I have nothing but respect for the police and I’m very sorry for my behaviour.”

5. KC has her ‘final say’ on MAFS, and she definitely didn’t steal Michael. Okay?

As the majority of reality TV has sadly halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we need some sort of drama to distract us. And what better way to do that, than to learn new information about the show from our favourite contestants?

Today, it comes courtesy of MAFS‘ KC Osborne.

Although a latecomer to the 2020 cast, Osborne has been making waves.

She arrived on the show to (fake) marry Drew Brauer. And although their relationship has since ended, another one has formed with none other than fellow castmate, Michael Goonan.

While their romance caused some drama on the show, Osborne wants to set the record straight.

Sharing a tell-all video on her public Instagram profile, Osborne opened up about her feelings towards MAFS, her on-screen marriage and the love she has found since filming ended.
