A three-year-old girl is fighting for life after car crash that killed her mum.

A three-year-old girl from central western NSW is fighting for her life in hospital following a horror car crash that killed her mother.

Jana Bailey, 24, her partner Chris Riley, 26, and her daughter Neveah were travelling along East Coonamble Road, Gilgandra, when their ute flipped, throwing all three from the cabin about 2:50pm on Tuesday.

The trio were rushed to Gilgandra Hospital where Bailey died a short time later.

Riley, who was driving the vehicle at the time of crash, was airlifted to Sydney's Westmead Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Relatives and friends are now reportedly keeping vigil by his bedside and that of little Neveah, who was last reported to be in a critical but stable condition at Westmead Children's Hospital.

Jana's best friend, Chevelle Lharee, told The Daily Telegraph the family were on their way home to their Gilgandra property after a day of shopping and visiting relatives when the accident occurred.

Lharee described Bailey as a bubbly, selfless person, who had her lifelong dreams of motherhood fulfilled by the birth of little Neveah.

“Their relationship was beautiful, always smiles and laughter when they were together. They had such a close bond,” she said.

“She worked very hard every day to provide for herself and her daughter, she would do absolutely anything to see that little girl smile. She always wanted to be a mum, and thank God she had the chance to ­experience parenthood.”

Jana Bailey is one of 18 people to have died on Australian roads so far this holiday period.
