"He looked at me": Australian woman recounts the moment a terrorist grabbed her head.

An Australian woman who was stabbed in the throat during the London terror attack has described the moment she came face-to-face with her assailant.

Candice Hedge, 34, was having an after work drink with her partner on Saturday night when three men appeared from a van armed with knives and began attacking people on London Bridge and at the nearby Borough Market.

“He looked at me and I looked at him,” Hedge told Melissa Doyle in an interview which will air exclusively on Channel 7’s Sunday Night program.

“It really happened so quickly.”

Hedge, who is from Brisbane, briefly became comatose after her neck was slashed but thankfully woke up and has regained her ability to speak.

She was one of 50 injured in the attack which claimed the life of two of her fellow Australians, nurse Kirsty Boden and nanny Sara Zelenak.

In a Facebook post, Hedge informed her family and friends she was “doing OK”.

“In a bit of pain but I will survive. Thanks for your thoughts and well wishes. Love to all,” she wrote.

Her father, Ross Hedge, told 7 News Sydney she was “very lucky” to have survived.

“Everyone was having a good time and then all of a sudden, it’s just one second, and they’re fighting for their lives,” he said.

“She’s going to have no injuries from it, so very, very lucky.”
