What should be one of the most joyous times of her life has turned devastating for Camilla Franks.
The 42-year-old Australian fashion designer announced on Wednesday she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, just four months after welcoming her first child, Luna Gypsy Jones.
In a press statement released by her company, Camilla spoke about her diagnosis.
“I start on this journey humble but resilient; I would be lying if I said I wasn’t scared but I am fearlessly determined to do whatever it takes by focusing on my body, mind and spirit as I take my first trusting steps towards recovery,” she said.
Camilla said she has already received “amazing support” since her diagnosis, and praised her young family.

“As you know, my beautiful daughter Luna arrived a few months ago, and it is her warmth and smile that remind me this is a challenge I will embark on with courage – for her and my fiance as well as myself,” she continued.
“With the incredible love and support of my little family I have no doubt I will beat this.”
According to the statement, Camilla is “under the care and guidance of one of Australia’s leading oncologists” and will began treatment soon.
