Caitlyn Jenner: "I actually had my boobs removed. I never told anyone that."

“My mission at that point was to transition before I was 40. Got to 39… I just couldn’t go any further.”

In an exclusive interview with the US’ TODAY, Caitlyn Jenner revealed that she had begun her transition process in the 1980s.

Jenner began taking female hormones and had hoped to complete the transition by the age of 40.

But Jenner put the transition on hold after meeting ex-wife Kris.

“I actually had my boobs removed,” she said during the pre-recorded interview. “I never told anyone that.”

“I was a good 36B. I loved them. I thought this was fabulous,” she told TODAY.

The pair “hit it off” right away, and Caitlyn says she was always honest with Kris about her issues with gender identity, but when it came to expressing it, the pair operated with a specific set of rules.

“The rules with Kris and I were, ‘Don’t dress up, certainly around the house. If you really need to do that, when you’re on the road, take stuff and do that’,” she said.

This week, Jenner has been discussing issues of gender and equality, as part of the 2016 MAKERS Conference. Other celebrities featured at the MAKERS Conference included Halle Berry, Sheryl Sandberg and America Ferrera.

According to MAKERS website, the conference gathers “the world’s most impactful leaders and innovators for a 36-hour action plan.” Those involved include celebrities, educational institutions and  not-for-profit organisations. Their aim is to nurture “the kinds of characteristics necessary to produce strong, innovative leaders of the future.”

“We can no longer just talk about the issues facing women today, we need to act,” said MAKERS founder Dyllan McGee according to the Daily Mail.

“Over 36 hours, we will profile a diverse group of women who are doing just that — from setting records on the playing fields to coding solutions to changing society, the time is now.”
