A woman fighting for life in a Brisbane hospital was allegedly tortured and burned by her boyfriend for weeks before he reported her “horrific” injuries to police.
Tanya Nicole Roberts remains in a critical condition in an induced coma more than one week after she was found in a unit in the inner-city suburb of Bulimba.
Boyfriend Nicholas John Crilley, 31, was charged with a string of serious assault offences on Monday after he was arrested following an alleged police pursuit.
They include intent to inflict grievous bodily harm, torture, deprivation of liberty and unlawfully supplying a destructive substance to his 21-year-old partner.
Crilley was slapped with several additional driving, robbery and assaulting police charges on Tuesday related to the pursuit.
Clayfield residents and 20 officers, including those from Polair and the dog squad, helped detain Crilley after he allegedly stole several cars as he tried to evade police.
