Brandi Glanville's facial condition has derailed her life. She has no idea what's caused it.

Former reality star Brandi Glanville has shared an update on her "mystery" skin condition she believes to be a "parasite".

After meeting with plastic surgeon Terry Dubrow, from the show Botched, the reality star was told her face could take up to "five years" to return to its original appearance.

For Glanville, who hasn't been intimate with anyone in over a year, this was a sentence she couldn't bear.

"Five years is way too long for me to wait," Glanville said on her podcast, Brandi Glanville Unfiltered. "I have s—t to do. I have places to go, people to make out with. I have not had sex since last October. I haven't kissed [or] made out with anyone. I haven't socialised, really."

Glanville called Dubrow a "lovely man" but decided he wasn't the right fit for her situation.

"I want to run tests, and I wanna get another MRI and another CAT scan and do all the things. I wanna get to the bottom of this. I just don't wanna guess at what it is," she said.

So far, with four different opinions from four different doctors, the 52-year-old is no closer to getting her answers.

"If they're perplexed, I'm perplexed, and there is no answer right now, you know? That's it," she said. "My face is f—-ed, but it is what it is. I had 50 good years."

Just over a week ago, Glanville appeared on Page Six's Virtual Reali-Tea podcast, where she shared she had started taking antibiotics after noticing her face had started to "sink in".

"I prefer [my face] when it's a little swollen, to be honest," she said. "When it's only swollen on one side, it's not great. But the sinking-in thing is killing me slowly, because I just feel like I look like a crackhead."

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star added that she "so desperately" wants a solution after struggling with the affliction for two years.

"You could do anything you want to me, and I'd be okay with it," she said.

"I've had days of looking normal, not weeks. I wish. But it comes and goes. Over the weekend, it was only swollen on the right side of my face, so I looked like I had a really big meatball in the right side of my cheek."

Calling the swelling "disgusting" and "so gross", Brandi said she believed the condition had frightened her children a couple of times, forcing her to hide her face with a mask.

The ordeal has taken a toll on her mental health.

"It's hard to hide out during Christmas when everyone's having their parties. It's depressing. It just hurts my brain and my heart," she said.

"The pain is more mental than anything, because I have been hiding and going through a deep, deep depression. Even if I could work now, at this point, I couldn't. So it's just been a really rough two years for me."

Brandi, however, did enjoy a party this month, attending Twitch streamer Amouranth's Winter Wonderland birthday party. It was the first time she had shown her face in public since dissolving her face filler.

The appearance came after the former housewife announced she was returning to making Cameos for fans earlier this month.

"It's been over a year since I've been dealing with my health issues and haven't been able to keep up with the videos," Brandi posted on X.

"Let me share what I look like and why I had to take a pause... check next post and f**king suck it haters."

Brandi then uploaded an image of herself. "Sick it!" she posted with the below image, which she could have meant to read "suck it".

"What happened? I wish I knew, I've been in and out of the hospital this passed [sic] year [and a] 1/2, spent almost every dollar I have trying to figure it out," she posted on X.

"Some Dr.'s say I have a parasite that jumps around my face. Some say it's stress induced edema. I personally say it's Bravo," she joked, referencing the network that hosts Real Housewives. She added that other medical professionals claim she has stress-induced eczema.

The reality star elaborated on the experience in an interview with Entertainment Tonight's Brice Sander.

"I've been on meds this whole year. I don't socialise. I don't go out and I'm just spending all of my money on trying to figure out what's wrong with me… over $70,000," she told ET.

Glanville said she even lost her ability to speak at one point.

"My face was swelling and I wasn't able to speak, but then it started to sink in. I'm like touching it [on one side of my face] and when I touch one area, it [the parasite] jumps to the other side — no joke, I have it on video," she said.

"It lives right here [on the left side of her face] but sometimes it jumps over here [on the right side] when it gets mad."

Brandi believes she contracted the potential parasite while filming in Morocco. "I mean, we had food sitting out for hours on end and some of it was meat… in Morocco," she theorised.

"Six months after I got back from [filming in] Morocco, I started having this speaking thing and the swelling up thing, it started in July and we're still here trying to figure it out."

Back on X, Brandi was distressed about her changing appearance. "My life has been ruined for no reason, I've spent all of my money on [the] Dr.! My health is ruined. My looks are ruined."

She said it's possible she may need to undergo surgery to further investigate what is going on, and that she initially enlisted the help of plastic surgeon Dr. Nicholas Nikolov with her ongoing treatment.

It's been a tumultuous few years for Brandi, who is the ex-wife of actor Eddie Cibrian.

She was set to appear in Season 4 of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip in Morocco, but her co-star, Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Caroline Manzo, claimed Glanville inappropriately touched her and humped her without consent while filming.

Glanville has always denied these allegations and has threatened to sue Bravo for tarnishing her reputation.

In January, Manzo sued Bravo, alleging the network would "encourage and/or allow" contestants "to sexually harass other cast members because that is good for ratings."

Back in October 2023, Brandi was taken to the hospital after she passed out with a swollen face. Two months earlier, she was diagnosed with stress-induced angioedema, swelling of the deeper layers of the skin, caused by a build-up of fluid, which she claims started after the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.
