Three days on from the Bourke Street rampage that saw a driver allegedly mow down 42 people on Friday afternoon, the family of a Melbourne mother in intensive care has created a crowdfunding page to help with growing medical expenses.
Nethra Krishnamurthy had returned to work from maternity just five days prior to the accident, and at the time of being hit, she was returning to her office after breastfeeding her eight-month-old son at his nearby daycare centre.

After being struck by Gargasoulas, who was travelling at a speed of approximately 80 km/h, Krishnamurthy suffered a punctured lung, broken ribs, fractures to her spine in three places, damage to her kidney and liver and deep lacerations to her head.
"Nethra was rushed to hospital and underwent emergency surgery for several hours. She is presently in Intensive Care, in a critical but stable condition," her family wrote on their recently created mycause page.
