Sexual harassment, a smear campaign and text messages. Inside Blake Lively's lawsuit against Justin Baldoni.

Blake Lively has filed a lawsuit against her former It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni, accusing him of sexually harassing her on set while filming the movie. The suit also claims that Baldoni hired a PR crisis management firm in an attempt to ruin Lively's reputation following the film's release.

The lawsuit, obtained by the New York Times, comes months after the widely reported feud between Baldoni and Lively during the It Ends With Us press tour.

Blake Lively's allegations against Justin Baldoni.

Lively has alleged that, during filming, an "all hands" meeting was conducted in order to discuss Baldoni's behaviour on set. During the meeting, Baldoni was allegedly told he could no longer show Lively "nude videos or images of women" and to cease mentioning the "cast and crew's genitalia", his past "porn addiction", his sexual conquests, Lively's weight or her "dead father".

Baldoni was also allegedly instructed that there would be "no more adding of sex scenes, oral sex or on camera climaxing by [Lively] outside the scope of the script [Lively] approved when signing onto the project."

Lively has alleged that both Baldoni and the film's producer Jamey Heath entered Lively's dressing room uninvited, including when she was breastfeeding. Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds was allegedly present for the meeting.

The alleged smear campaign.

In the lawsuit, Lively has also accused Baldoni of launching a social media smear campaign against her after hiring a "crisis management" team. The lawsuit includes several alleged text messages between Baldoni and his team, with one from his publicist claiming that Baldoni "wants to feel like [Lively] can be buried" and "we can't write we will destroy her."

Another alleged text message from Baldoni to his publicist read, "What is the TikTok strategy? I'd like you guys to start posting me ONLY talking about domestic violence and clips and why this movie is so important."

In an alleged text message exchange between Baldoni, his publicist Jennifer Abel and crisis management expert Melissa Nathan, they spoke of the success of the campaign in swaying support to Baldoni's side.

"Very little pick up. Fans remain supportive of you and believe the issue of the 'feud' is because she took control of the movie," Abel wrote to Baldoni.

"The day before, Nathan remarked to Abel that: 'The majority of socials are pro Justin and I don't even agree with half of them lol,'" Nathan wrote the previous day.

A strategic document from the PR firm, which was also included in the lawsuit allegedly claimed that, "Though there are several potential scenarios at play here which we should be prepared for, should [Lively] and her team make her grievances public — via a blatant story or subtle leak."

In one text exchange, Baldoni referenced a post on X about Hailey Bieber entitled 'Hailey Bieber's history of bullying many women', using it as an example for his team of what they should emulate.

"This is what we would need," Baldoni wrote in the text, to which Abel replied, "Yes I literally just spoke to Melissa about this on the break about what we discussed last night for social and digital. Focus on Reddit, TikTok, [Instagram]."

The viral interview that was allegedly planted.

In August, Kjersti Flaa, a Norwegian reporter, uploaded a 2016 interview to YouTube in which Blake Lively snapped back after Flaa commented on her baby "bump" and was rather short throughout the conversation. Flaa titled the video "The Blake Lively interview that made me want to quit my job," and later told The Daily Mail, "It's time that people behaving badly in Hollywood, or anywhere else for that matter, gets called out for it."

However, this wasn't the first time Flaa had shared content that was aligned with a client of Nathan's. In 2022, Johnny Depp had also hired Nathan and during Johnny Depp's legal battle with Amber Heard, Flaa posted clips from her interviews with the actor, tagging them with #JusticeForJohnnyDepp.

Baldoni has denied the claims made by Lively, with his lawyer Bryan Freedman calling the accusations "completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious".

"It is shameful that Ms. Lively and her representatives would make such serious and categorically false accusations against Mr. Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios and its representatives," Freedman said.

He has called the lawsuit "yet another desperate attempt to 'fix' her negative reputation which was garnered from her own remarks and actions during the campaign for the film; interviews and press activities that were observed publicly, in real time and unedited, which allowed for the internet to generate their own views and opinions."

Blake Lively hopes to inspire others to speak up.

In a statement to the New York Times, Lively claimed that the lawsuit hopes to inspire others to speak up about misconduct.

"I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted," she said.

Justin Baldoni has been dropped from his agency.

Following a sexual harassment and retaliation complaint filed late Friday by Lively, It Ends with Us, Baldoni has parted ways with his agency.

The decision was made on Saturday morning for the actor-director-producer to leave the agency, according to sources speaking with Deadline. Lively remains with WME.

The agency did not respond to requests for comment.
