'You're going to see this chemist sunscreen everywhere this summer.'

It's a shame, as humans, we don't actually get a dollar every time we are asked the same question.

(Who came up with that saying, anyway? Because they should really follow through with working out some sort of payment plan.)

The single most common question I've been asked over my 20 years as a beauty editor?

It would be an amalgamation of thousands of queries, something along the lines of.….

"Okay, but what is the BEST skincare product I can use? It's all so overwhelming and I just want you to tell me, what actually works?"

Most people wait for me to suggest a spendy serum that's above all the rest, or something that gives a little extra boost your cream can't.

My answer is simple — a relatively affordable option compared to most skincare, and it never changes.

It's sunscreen.

Anti-climactic?

Not really, since the climate plays such a big role in our skin's health.

It is believed that as much as 80 per cent of premature facial ageing — such as wrinkles and fine lines — is due to sun exposure, according to Cancer Council Australia.

Which makes wearing SPF daily the best skincare you can use.

Essentially, I don't care how many serums, toners or fancy creams you've got lined up in your routine — sunscreen is the one step you really shouldn't skip.

All that said, I'm so excited to share some very good news.

The BIODERMA PHOTODERM range has launched for the very first time in Australia.

If you're a skincare or SPF enthusiast, you'll have seen this range overseas before. PHOTODERM sunscreens have existed in other countries for ages — years in fact — in many different forms and formulas.

Now, it's our turn. Aussies can now get their hands (and faces and bodies) on this suncare, and guess what? We get three new formulas made just for us. Each one is specifically formulated for the Australian sun.

You have the choice of the serum, a fluid or the face and body lotion. Being BIODERMA, of course they're all ideal for sensitive skin and dermatologically tested. And it goes without saying, these offer the highest level of protection, covering both UVA and UVB.

BIODERMA's experts created these products using their Sun Active Defense technology, which goes beyond UV protection. Each formula blends powerful UV filters with ingredients that help protect your skin from the effects of sun damage.

Let's take a closer look at the three newbies:
