'I tried this $28 product that Victoria Beckham uses, and I have thoughts.'

When it comes to skincare, I'm a less-is-more girl.

Especially after those long days when all you want is to become a human 'Do Not Disturb' button, quickly take your makeup off, chuck on some comfies and fully commit to bed rotting.

In these moments, I want skincare products that get the job done fast but don't compromise on quality. And when removing makeup, micellar water has definitely become a skincare staple.

I was recently introduced to the BIODERMA Sensibio H2O Micellar Water, which has been released in a limited edition bottle designed by Victoria Beckham.

Yep, you read that right.

Sensibio H2O is one of Victoria Beckham's long-time favourite skincare products and in honour of 30 years of the iconic rinse-free cleanser, she has collaborated with BIODERMA to design a limited-edition bottle of the famed micellar water featuring her iconic monogram.

Back in the '90s, BIODERMA was actually responsible for creating micellar water so it's only fitting that this is how they're celebrating the product's big 3-0.

As a micellar water advocate, I was keen to finally try the product that sells one bottle every second worldwide and see what all the hype is about.

What is micellar water?

Before I jump into my review, here's a breakdown of what this fancy water is and does.

Micellar water is a rinse-free cleanser.

This means no hunching over a sink, no scrubbing and no water annoyingly dripping down your wrists. In fact, you don't even have to be in the bathroom to cleanse your face.

You can keep a bottle in your car, beside your bed or in your handbag to clean off the day in one quick swipe whenever you need.

Micellar water is made up of micelles which are tiny oil molecules that act as magnets for dirt, sweat and makeup. And BIODERMA's formula is super gentle so your skin isn't left feeling tight or dry.

How did you go with it?

Adding the dermatologist-recommended BIODERMA Sensibio H2O was an easy addition to my everyday skincare routine.

I used it as the first step in prepping my skin in the morning and at the end of the day when taking off my makeup.

The first thing I noticed was how little product I needed to take off my makeup.

Usually, I feel the need to drench up to three cotton pads' worth of micellar water to ensure I get all the dirt and grime from the day off my skin but with this product it was a one-and-done situation.

During this trial I would gently swipe the wet cotton pad from the centre of my face outwards and down my neck in order to effectively get a full-faced cleanse.

It plays well with other products too so I wasn't worried about having any skin irritation when it came to applying my moisturiser on top.

This product has been created with all skin types, even the most sensitive and reactive in mind, so whether you're oil-prone, have dry skin or fall into the sensitive skin category, you can be assured that the formula will respect your skin's balance.

How did your skin feel?

Soothing is the first word that comes to mind when I think about my experience using this product as I could instantly feel how gentle it was.

The skin-friendly, minimalist formula is like giving your skin a big hug, leaving your face feeling refreshed and hydrated.

When it comes to cleansing I'm always worried about my skin either feeling stripped back or greasy but the BIODERMA Sensibio H2O Micellar Water does neither.

Not only does it deeply cleanse away any impurities but it gives you a soft canvas to apply other products on top of.

Does it live up to the hype?

For a simple, no-fuss solution to taking off your makeup and cleansing your skin, this product gets a solid tick of approval from me.

The formula is high-performing and kind to the skin without compromising the skin's barrier.

What it takes away in dirt, sweat and makeup it gives back in hydration and moisture.

It's no wonder this game-changing product took the fashion world by storm when makeup artists realised they now had a quick, mess-free solution to remove makeup backstage without irritating models' skin.

So in short, I get it.
