In the space of just two December days, Billie Lourd lost two of the most important women in her life – her mother, Carrie Fisher, and her grandmother, Debbie Reynolds.
Both beloved movie stars, their deaths triggered an outpouring of condolences from around the world; a degree of love and support the third-generation actress says has helped get her through the tragedy.
Sharing a family photograph on Instagram, the 24-year-old wrote, “Receiving all of your prayers and kind words over the past week has given me strength during a time I thought strength could not exist.
“There are no words to express how much I will miss my Abadaba and my one and only Momby.
“Your love and support means the world to me.”
Lourd’s nickname for her grandmother is believed to be a nod to the song Aba Daba Honeymoon Reynolds performed in the 1950 film Two Weeks with Love.
