Bianca Censori has never had a voice. Until now.

Last year, Bianca Censori (known to many as simply Kanye West's wife) was the most googled woman in the world.

Don't believe us? Just ask her herself.

In her first-ever interview, Censori spoke at length to Vanity Fair and this self-described "elusive unicorn" even tried to leverage that claim to secure a cover.

Listen to the Mamamia Out Loud hosts discuss the profile. Post continues below.

The Melbourne-born architect knows the level of intrigue she inspires is not normal — especially since she has never spoken publicly.

"I'm trying not to sound like I'm bragging, but it is not a position that anybody in time has ever had that much visibility without speech," Censori said.

"Mystery still has power."

The 31-year-old isn't interested in doing what's expected of her. "Demanding me to speak… is a form of control in itself," she said.

So why, after over three years in the public eye, since marrying Kanye 'Ye' West in December 2022, has Censori decided to finally speak out now?

"Because I have something to talk about," Censori admits. "What would I have spoken about [before]… the question that would have been asked to me at that time would have been regarding my marriage."

She's not wrong. It's impossible to discuss Censori without linking her to her controversial husband. She gave the interview with Ye in the same room, but he 'laid low', wanting to give his wife the full spotlight… for once.

After years of wondering exactly who Bianca Censori is, she has a hell of a lot to say. In this extensive interview, she talks about art, astrology and 'woo-woo stuff, occulty stuff'. She's passionate about architecture and solving the housing crisis. And she loves her husband.

These days, the young architect is more known for her outrageous naked fashion than anything else.

Among her most shocking 'naked' moments was wearing a completely transparent mini-dress to the 2025 Grammys, walking through Italy clutching a purple pillow to cover her chest, and appearing in Paris wearing only transparent tights and no pants.

This was all part of her expressing her art. "I was naked everywhere. I didn't detach with it at any point. I consistently showed the same imagery over and over and over again," Censori said.

"I live my artwork."

Censori's shocking fashion paired with her silence has raised suspicions in recent years that Ye was the one controlling her fashion choices.

To the speculation that she 'isn't okay', Censori says "I don't really care… I always just think, 'They'll get it someday. And if they don't, they don't.'"

She maintains that all of her style statements are made in collaboration with her husband — not under his control.

"Me and my husband would work on my outfits together," she says.

"It was like a collaboration, it was never 'I was being told to do something… If you were married to Gianni Versace, wouldn't he give you a dress or something?"

But as far as her husband goes, it's not just his history of controlling behaviour in his past relationships that has been raising suspicions. At a time when antisemitism is at dangerous heights, the rapper has been one of the loudest voices spreading hate.

Between 2022 and 2025, West has gone on a range of antisemitic tirades across X and multiple livestreams. Addressing the harm he's done to the Jewish community, West took out a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal in January, stating he is "not a Nazi or an antisemite. I love Jewish people."

The timing of Censori's interview — just a few weeks later — is curious, perhaps suggesting the couple had decided to coordinate their press to improve their public image.

When asked if she is antisemitic, Censori stated "No," adding that "the fact that antisemitism is mainstream is terrifying."

Kanye actually offered to do an interview with Vanity Fair to discuss the WSJ apology, but the writer passed. She admitted that this would mean the Censori story would "once again, become all about Ye."

She noted that the musician was "okay with that" and "Censori supported her husband's artistic vision."

Being an unwavering pillar of support is part of the gig of being married to Kanye West.

"All I can do is always just be there and help," Censori says, with the writer noting she got teary-eyed. "I have the love and empathy for him to be able to do that, and I understand that the world doesn't."

Bianca herself had spent time in rehab to work on her mental health, which 'changed her life' for the better. "I was very emotionally dysregulated. And I can function now."

Kanye West and Bianca Censori's relationship timeline.

Censori met Ye in 2020 after he recruited her via Instagram for Yeezy. After a meeting in Switzerland in the middle of the pandemic, she was hired as Yeezy's head of architecture.

Their professional relationship turned romantic following his 2022 divorce from Kim Kardashian, leading to a private legal marriage in December 2022.

Censori oddly listed their 'proximity' to each other as the reason sparks flew between them. "Just working together. You're spending so much time with somebody. So we'd be either on the phone together or with each other all the time."

In the following years, the couple would be tainted by constant controversy. The most publicised one was the couple being spotted performing an alleged sex act on a boat in Venice.

Censori wants to set the record straight on this, confirming this didn't happen. She noted she was simply resting her head on West's lap, and her aunt was on board, too.

In a rare moment of vulnerability in the interview, she admitted the controversy was "the first time I was really embarrassed… I felt embarrassed because of my dad."

Censori is also keen to set the record straight on West's parenting, which follows his ex-wife Kim Kardashian claiming she has their four children 'full-time' as a parent.

"He's a really awesome dad," Censori said, claiming Ye was seeing his kids the day of the interview. "He's fun and will do things like almost build worlds for them. I remember one time they came over and he made the whole room foam so they could jump on everything."

Censori understands that to many, she will always be a "nepo wife", who is famous only by association. "I didn't marry my husband because I wanted some sort of platform," Censori said. "I married him because I love him. Is that like the corniest thing ever?"

Censori's love for her husband is constant throughout the interview, but it was something she said about codependency that stood out. "I wasn't able to regulate for my whole life," Censori said.

"I also pair-bond so intensely and so deeply that that person becomes part of me. That's my person. You know that movie Together, where they're getting into each other's skin? I loved that one. That's kind of who I am."

For the unfamiliar, this movie portrays a codependent relationship where Alison Brie and Dave Franco's characters' skin, bones and organs slowly fusing together.

The interviewer noted that Censori continually repeats, "I love him.... I love him so much," about West throughout their time together.

She ended the interview by playfully asking the journalist, "Do you feel like you get me?". By the end of the interview, the wife of Kanye West tells the journalist she feels like she made a new friend.

The writer notes that as a celebrity, Censori is the "least like the public version of herself," out of anyone they've met.

Let's hope the real Bianca keeps on speaking up. It turns out, she has a lot to say when her voice can actually be heard.
