Miley Cyrus is the true champion of the Bette Midler and Kim Kardashian feud.

Twitter feuds come and go.

Sometimes you crack a 140-character gag and it sinks like a stone. Other times, if you happen to have upwards of 900,000 followers, your joke will set fire to the Twitterverse.

Yesterday, Bette Midler made a kind of funny joke about Kim Kardashian and it went down a treat with pretty much everyone except Kim Kardashian.

If you missed the saga it went a bit like this: Kimmy posts nude selfie; Bette is underwhelmed, makes a joke; Kim responds with more jokes and another nude. Lots of chime in and, now, Bette says Kim should learn to take a joke.

A lot of people think Kim has handled this whole non-drama pretty well.

In order to keep the gag going, a few other celebs have chimed in sand, starting a little on-the-side feud of their own.

In a tweet which has now been deleted, actress Chloe Moretz said: “I truly hope you realize how important setting goals are [sic] for young women, teaching them we have so much more to offer than just our bodies.”

Which, unfortunately, made the whole thing take on a weird slut-shaming vibe.

And just when you thought things were winding down, Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato jumped on Instagram to mic drop on this whole messy business.

Dear women, you ALL are acting tacky AF! Why don’t we overly (myself included) fortunate women come together and try to create and bring jobs to other women in desperate need of them so they can support not only THEMSELVES but their families! #happyinternationalwomensday can we all put the cuntiness aside for one fucking day and love / celebrate one another! It actually isn’t the first time Bette Midler has been accused of telling young women to put more clothes on.

In 2014, she found herself in hot water for saying Ariana Grande looked “ridiculous” partially-clothed in one of her video clips.

“Maybe they tell them that’s what you’ve got to do. Sex sells. Sex has always sold,” Midler said.

“Trust your talent. You don’t have to make a wh*e out of yourself to get ahead. You really don’t.”

Those two sorted it out, with Midler labelling herself a reformed “wh*re”, but it does make her original joke seem a little less hilarious.

Hopefully they figure it out. I mean, Kim K can be pretty ridiculous, but she does seem fairly #liberated. ;-)
