Finally. A post-baby selfie that tells it like it is.
Pro surfer Bethany Hamilton gave birth just two months ago. And she’s not embarrassed about the fact that her body had to change to accomplish that remarkable feat.
The US surfing star, who lost an arm in a 2003 shark attack, has posted a post baby-body selfie on social media with a difference.
While most celebrity selfies take the form of a humblebrag about ‘losing the baby weight’, 25-year-old Hamilton kept it real by showing off some curves in her latest Instagram shot.
Hamilton captioned the post: “I find it silly for us as women to worry about our body as we grow a human being inside of us! It is such an amazing feat to go through pregnancy. And then you have this wonderful lil being that is part you and part of your significant other. It’s natural and HEALTHY to gain weight.”
She continued: “Here I am two months after giving birth to Tobias. I feel great and healthy! It takes 9 months for our bodies to change and grow.
“So I can say it’s alright to take your time, maybe about 9 months, to get back to the new, healthy, beautiful, and normal you.”
The photo has more than 98,000 likes already, and has attracted more than 1,200 comments — with most thanking Hamilton for the body-positive words of wisdom.
