Welcome to Mamamia's new monthly series, where our Lifestyle team share the things they're obsessing over right now — from the latest beauty fixes and fashion finds to must-visit travel destinations and tipples you need to try.

It's like a group chat with your girlfriends, only slightly less chaotic.

For our September edition, we're channelling the first week of spring vibes with glowy makeup hacks, transeasonal wardrobe additions and a cocktail pre-mix that's perfect for your next picnic.

Watch: We couldn't help but wonder… was Carrie Bradshaw's style ever attainable? Post continues below.

The boots she can't stop wearing…

"This is one of those purchases that sat in my wishlist for months before finally buying. I have always loved animal print and already own a few pairs of leopard and croc print ankle boots, but I wasn't sure knee-high boots would fit my vibe… or my calves.

"After trying on and having zero luck with knee-high boots from other stores, I bit the bullet with this 100 per cent leather pair from Naked Vice. Having short legs means they are a touch tight where they finish at the back of my knee, but the material is soft and flexible, so I like to pull them down slightly for a slouchy look.

"The 3.8cm heel is commute friendly, and by following my styling rule for animal print of any colour and species — treat it like a neutral — these have fast become my most worn shoe."

A low-maintenance everyday base…

"As a non-foundation wearer, this complexion product ticks every box: Lighter than a foundation, but not too runny like some skin tints. Easy to blend, but more substantial than your average tinted moisturiser.

"It also provides extra SPF protection, but let me be clear — a tinted sunscreen should only ever be worn on top of a standalone SPF. If you're after minimal 'your skin, but better' coverage with a natural skin finish for everyday wear, this is it."

A trending set…

"I was scared of jumping on the brown fashion trend because I didn't think it was really my colour. But I finally caved and I'm so glad I did.

"When I wore this cocoa-coloured denim set from All About Eve to the office, I got so many compliments on it. This is your sign to step outside of your normal 'colour scheme bias'."

The radiance drops made for 'no-makeup makeup'…

"I recently tried products from Nude By Nature for the first time and am really loving them. I put the Hydra Serum Mineral Radiance Drops underneath my moisturiser before putting on makeup — this product has a pearly dewy finish and slight tint, but you can get it in a bronze shade, too.

"It gives your skin that extra hit of hydration and antioxidant goodness, but leaves you with a radiant finish that actually lasts. Perfect for when you want that natural, dewy look, without any of the heavy, sticky feeling."

The Scandi-layered look…

"I'm loving shopping my wardrobe and layering long shirts over my jeans and suit pants thanks to the recent spate of streetstyle inspo from Copenhagen and beyond. Think a long shirtdress or crochet skirt, under a jacket or cardigan… but over pants."

The scarf hack to bring a bag back to life…

"I'm also partial to a scarf. I wes recently inspired by the Nothing to Wear podcast to wear this oldie-but-goodie scarf like a tie, but my handbag is next.

"I plan on buying two cotton bandanas and wrapping them around the handles of my handbag, which are really worn. I think this hack will bring it back to life."

The perfect elevated cardigan…

"I searched for so long to find the perfect cool cardigan, and the Gertie cardi from Mister Zimi has really met all my expectations. The quality is exceptional, and I've worn it so many times since taking it home! It makes me feel elevated in a casual way, simply by teaming it with jeans or trousers and flats."

A delicious tipple…

"I discovered this cocktail pre-mix at an event recently, and if you're like me and love a good Paloma (that's a delightful grapefruit and tequila tipple), you need to get in on it.

"One bottle makes eight drinks; just add tequila and soda. I really think this should be a Hen's party non-negotiable."

That doughnut light…

"I've been looking for a chic lighting solution for our bedroom, and this multipurpose LED lamp from IKEA caught my eye.

"It's minimal but also a little bit quirky, which is exactly the balance I'm trying to strike with interiors. And I guess I'm into orange things this month — you can blame Taylor Swift!"

An interesting Korean skincare mask…

"OK, so you've probably seen Kim Kardashian's Skims Seamless Sculpt Face Wraps doing the rounds online. While they feel shiny and new, these kinds of contouring straps have been a staple in South Korea for years.

"Now, one of my favourite K-beauty brands has taken the concept and turned it into a face mask, and I'm so obsessed. I've been using the mask twice a week since April, and I've honestly noticed a massive difference in the shape of my lower face.

"Unlike most sheet masks, this one doesn't dry out quickly, stretches to cover my entire face, and has never irritated my very sensitive skin. Honestly, I'm struggling to find a single bad thing to say about it."
