LEIGH CAMPBELL: '9 of my favourite multi-use beauty products.'

It's 2025 and I'm done with items that do just one thing.

I want a vacuum that I don't need to operate which also mops hard floors. (I know they exist, I just need to buy one).

I want a fridge that serves me cold water and also makes various sizes of ice all by itself. (I invested in one last year and it's my favourite appliance).

I want a fairy who does all my washing and then folds it and puts it away in the correct wardrobes. (Okay, wishful thinking… maybe in another 30 years).

Watch: Speaking of multi-tasking products, here's Em Vernem trialling the 'boyfriend blush' trend with a makeup stick you can use on your eyes, lips and cheeks. Post continues below.

Seriously though, who doesn't love a multi-use product?

Sure, there's certain steps that need to focus on one particular result. And while we can't have unrealistic expectations of our skincare and makeup, there are some that really can be used in multiple ways.

I love skincare and makeup which works the hardest so much that I've already written about some favourites this year. Now, I'm adding the below to that list.

The best multi-use beauty products.

Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre Multi-Purpose Moisturiser, $42.

Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre Multi-Purpose Moisturiser.

This cult cream is multi-award winning for good reason. Loved by makeup artists on photo shoots, it can be used as a cleanser, a mask, a moisturiser and a primer. I love it as the latter, or as an overnight hydrator when travelling.

Trinny London Just A Touch Foundation And Concealer, $50.

The little pot you'll carry in your bag everywhere, this cover up is the perfect formula because it's buildable without getting cakey, meaning you can use it as a sheer wash or as a targeted concealer by tapping on a few more layers.

Robe Haircare Clean + Finish, $59.99.

I know a two-in-one shampoo and conditioner might give you daggy flashbacks to the 1980s, but this one is chic, somehow does the job of both steps and leaves your hair feeling clean and soft. Great for travel, or a bottle in the shower the whole household can use.

ILIA Multi-Stick, $60.

I'm 73 years late to the party but I've finally started to enjoy wearing blush. I prefer cream formulas and love this one in shade 'All Of Me' because the pigment isn't too full-on. It's also great for a wash of colour on the lips or eyelids. It's very handbag-friendly, too.

Manicare 2 In 1 Essential Face Brush, $19.99.

Unlike Kelly, I don't have a huge brush collection and don't feel the need for 34 specific types to do my face. This dual-ended option works for multiple steps — I use the big end for bronzer and blush, and the smaller side for concealer and highlighter. I have two on-the-go, so a clean one is always on hand while I wash the other.

Holme Beauty Hyrtide Flex Concealer Brightener, $52.

Holme Beauty Hyrtide Flex Concealer Brightener.

A tiny dot of this on both the outer and inner corner of my under eye brightens the whole area before concealer. But my favourite way to use it is to neutralise my dark upper eyelids — I then set it with a tiny amount of translucent powder and my eyes look immediately more rested.

NUXE Huile Prodigieuse® Multi Purpose Dry Oil, $25.

NUXE Huile Prodigieuse® Multi Purpose Dry Oil

I refuse to travel without a bottle of this oil. Being a Dry Oil, it absorbs beautifully and leaves no greasy residue. I use it on my body, face (it's great at removing makeup), through the ends of my hair and even on cracked heels and rough cuticles.

Essano Happy Skin Prep & Balance Toner Mist, $23.

Not all face mists are created equal. As a combo gal, this spritz gives my face a lovely glow and burst of hydration but somehow doesn't make my shiny bits more oily. I use it before skincare but also to refresh my makeup in the afternoon if needed.

Mecca Max Sunkissed Flush Cream Complexion Palette, $38.

Three cream shades on one petit palette, with so many application possibilities. The pink is a pretty blush or lip colour, the bronze can be used to contour or as an effortless eye base, and the champagne shade is an excellent highlighter not only for the face but collarbones, too.

While on the topic of double or triple threats, Em Vernem recently raved about a new skincare pot that can be used as a cleanser, a makeup remover AND a face mask. Want to learn more about it? Read her review here.
