Here are the seven best (and most awkward) moments of the 2017 Golden Globes.

It's sad to say, but just like that, the Golden Globes have come and gone for another season.

But before you go drowning that sadness in popcorn and illegal downloads of all the winning films, it's worth turning that frown upside down for a little longer, because there were some incredibly funny and memorable moments at the 2017 Golden Globe awards.

Nicole Kidman gatecrashed Tom Hiddleston's red-carpet interview.

Okay, how do these two even know each other, we're not sure, but that's Hollywood, right?

Making the usual mundane red carpet interview interesting, Nicole Kidman seemingly smoke bombed in outta nowhere, cutting across Tom Hiddleston's mic, joking, "That's enough. Enough talking now," while husband Keith Urban hung at the back.

"I'm so happy to be here and I'm determined to fun, that's why I came and did that," Kidman said laughing.

Kristen Wiig and Steve Carrell took the audience to an awkward place.

It wouldn't be a Hollywood awards show if the comedy wasn't laid on thick and fast, and thanks to Kristen Wiig and Steve Carrell, there were no disappointments on Sunday evening.

Presenting the Golden Globe for the best-animated film, Wiig began the duo's skit by asking Carrell what the first cartoon movie he'd ever seen was, to which he replied, "I was six years old and my dad took me to see Fantasia, which was astounding. The music, the spectacle of the whole thing; it was kind of a life-changing experience," Carrell said.

"And as we were leaving the theatre, there standing in the lobby was my mum. And that was the moment she told my dad she wanted a divorce. I never saw my father again after that day — Fantasia day," the comedian said in an emotional tone.

Responding with her own memory, a deadpan Wiig said the first cartoon movie she saw was Bambi. 

"March 14 1981. It was the same day we had to put our dogs down. Three of them. Little Jack, Janet and Chrissie. My grandpa thought it'd be fun to go to a movie. It didn't take our minds off it. Bambi's mum. And also that was the last day I saw my grandpa. He disappeared. And I didn't speak for two years."

Awkward, sure. But very laugh-out-loud worthy, nonetheless.

Amy Schumer was all of us when confronted with the cast of Stranger Things. 

She's got her own hit comedy show and several box-office movie hits under her belt, but that doesn't mean Amy Schumer doesn't fangirl like the rest of us.

And when faced with the insanely talented teenagers from the Netflix show Stranger Things the Trainwreck actress did just that.

"Ummmmm things got strange," Schumer wrote alongside an image of the stars, herself and boyfriend Ben Hanisch.

Andrew Garfield and Ryan Reynolds kissed.

Yes, you read that right. Two of Hollywood's most genetically blessed males shared a sneaky pash while they thought no one was looking. Except this is the Golden Globes and there are cameras everywhere, sillies!

While Ryan Gosling made his way to the stage to accept his Best Actor award, the fellow award nominees shared a passionate kiss while Ryan Reynolds' wife Blake Lively watched on laughing.

(Andrew Garfield's ex-girlfriend, Emma Stone, watched the kiss with Gosling backstage later that night.)

"I love you," the pair said to each other, hands delicately placed on one another's faces. It was unexpected, it was beautiful, it was absolutely a moment we're keen to remember and maybe watch again later when we're alone.

Matt Damon screamed his undying love for Brad Pitt loud and proud. 

Speaking of romance, like Tom Cruise jumping on a couch before him, Matt Damon did not declare his love for close friend and co-star Brad Pitt quietly over the weekend, instead opting to cheer, scream and clap voraciously as his recently separated friend took to the stage to present the Golden Globe for the best drama motion picture award.

When love looks this legit, though, why hide it? When done right, bromances can be a beautiful, well-dressed thing.

Seeing Elaine Benes on the ones and twos to scratch vinyl in an evening gown wasn't something we could have predicted, and yet, we're seriously into it.

The Veep star seamlessly took over from Questlove, 'fro comb, glasses and all. Bravo, Ms Vice-President, bravo.

Emma Stone fell victim to the awkward hug. 

Things were looking so good for Emma Stone. She won a Golden Globe her for performance in La La Land. So did her co-star Ryan Gosling. And so did the film's director, which is exactly where things got ~ awks ~.

Upon having his name read out as the winner, director Damien Chazelle rose, as did Gosling, Stone, and Chazelle's partner, all of whom went in for a congratulatory hug at the same time. And unfortunately, Stone was the unwanted meat in the sandwich.

Gosling got a hug, and his partner got a hug, but Stone just clung like a kid would to their parent's leg at the mall.

At least you got a Globe, though, right Stone? The night wasn't a total bust.
