For my summer wardrobe, I rarely gravitate towards anything that’s not linen. It’s easy, breezy and perfect to throw on when you can’t be bothered to plan out your outfit.
There’s a reason linen dresses have become the ultimate closet staple in recent years, and we have many Australian-based labels to thank for that.

There’s no denying that the popularity of linen dresses has risen thanks to the success of Australian e-commerce site DISSH, which rapidly took the world by storm. From people on TikTok sharing their DISSH hauls to women perusing the site before their month-long Europe trips — the Aussie label redefined “It girl” fashion, and we all immediately jumped on board.
Linen, which was once a fabric worn to the beach or when you’re running out the door, turned into something people were seen wearing to weddings, dinner parties and special occasions.
But, while I still love linen, DISSH and dresses that require little effort, I can’t help but ask: Is the era of linen dresses over? *Cue gasps and horrified faces*
I know, never in a million years did I think I would write that for so many of you to see, but allow me to explain.
