'This holy grail tint has replaced my lipstick, blush and eyeshadow in one.'

It seems that with every new makeup trend and product that becomes popular, makeup and skincare regimes are becoming more and more complicated.

Suddenly, getting a presentable every-day makeup look takes 17 products and twice as many steps. And don't even get me started on the dreaded "morning shed" routine.

Me? I like simplicity in my routine. Getting up an hour earlier to beautify myself was something I did daily in my early 20s, but I just don't have that in me anymore. I'm busy, and probably a little sleep-deprived. I want an accessible routine that still makes me feel pretty without reinforcing unattainable beauty standards, spending a small fortune, or losing all of my free time.

It's with this in mind that I must rave about what has become a holy grail product for me: BALM Beauty's The Tint.

I first tried this product a year ago when I was writing about blushes that work for darker skin tones (because trust me, you'd be surprised how many do not), but soon it became a go-to option for me.

The rose-red tint lives in a little compact that fits in your pocket or handbag.

As someone who works in media and sometimes has to front a camera with little to no notice, it was a convenient way to give my face some life without feeling like I needed to do a full-face of makeup just to work.

Instead of carrying an entire bag full of different makeup products and brushes, I would yank this out of my pocket and dab some on my cheeks for a soft Pride & Prejudice-style flush that would even out my eye bags, and then I would be good to go. It looks so good on camera — I really do feel like I'm giving Keira Knightley.

But that's not all I use this tint for — it works so much harder than just a blush. Now I also use it on my lips for that gorgeous, berry-stained look that is so popular right now (for good reason — it's low effort, high impact), and then I'll pop a tiny bit on my eyelids so everything is cohesive.

The result is a look that makes you look like you're glowing with in — like you've just stepped out during a cold morning, or come back from a run. At a time when my skin is looking pretty dull thanks to the current climate, it's a game-changer. And, it's worth noting that because I often don't wear any other products aside from a lip gloss and mascara when I use this tint, my skin has actually had time to recover from makeup use and is looking clearer.

Admittedly, this product has made me lazy with everyday makeup now — I often don't bother with anything for a daily look because I don't feel like I need it.

At this point I'm getting a full-face look for just $38 — it's an absolute steal, especially since a little bit goes a long way. I've had mine for a year now and I've barely made a dent in it, so you know you're getting plenty of bang for your buck.

Probably my only word of warning is that this blush is pretty pigmented — if you're paler, work with a light hand so you don't end up looking sunburnt (though right now even that's a look!).
