Hi friends, if we haven't yet met, I'm Peggy, Adore Beauty's resident Executive Assistant.

As someone in their late 40s who works in beauty, I've been pretty spoilt for choice on skincare, hair, makeup and wellness products to try.

As I've progressed through my 40s though, it's become a lot clearer to me that "beauty" isn't just about the latest anti-ageing product (although I'll never say 'no' to that!).

It's now about "wellness" and feeling joyful when I use a product — whether it be for my skin, my gut or my home.

So I thought I would share nine (with a couple of cheeky extras) of my top beauty product picks.

From the viral Biodance collagen mask and a glowy multi-use foundation that's a much cheaper alternative to a more expensive product, to gorgeous home scent — there's something for every type of beauty lover.

I'm not usually one to fall for TikTok trends, but this one lives up to the hype.

The Biodance mask is a new addition to my Sunday "everything shower" routine (surely everyone has an "everything shower" on a Sunday?).

This best-selling Korean sheet mask (four masks in each pack) is highly concentrated with collagen — definitely needed once you reach your 40s!

You can leave this on for three-four hours or, like me, you can sleep with it on and peel it off the next morning revealing plump, glowing skin — a perfect way to start the week.

Women of a certain generation will remember our obsession with strong, intense fragrances — we were "women of the 90s" after all!

Every dollar of our after-school jobs was saved to buy the fragrances which were the epitome of sophistication at the time — Dior's Poison, Elizabeth Arden's Red Door and of course, Lancôme's Tresor. As inexperienced teens, we would spray our entire bodies and walk around leaving huge clouds of perfume (and headaches) in our wake.

Thankfully, I'm a lot more demure in my application of fragrances now, and have learnt that less is definitely more.

My favourite daytime fragrance is currently Burberry's HER – fresh, fun, yet sophisticated. For a glamorous night out, you can't go past Georgio Armani's Si — a classic, elegant and chic perfume which I always get complimented on.

On my Christmas wish list every year is any of Gucci's Flora range — Gardenia/Magnolia/Jasmine. Apart from the fresh, floral tones which are perfect for summer, the bottle designs are stunning.

I actually don't wear a lot of make up — in fact, I don't even own a foundation.

However, I still like to look put together for work, and the Elf Cosmetics Halo Glow Liquid Filter is the perfect product to give me a fresh, polished and radiant look without feeling weighed down by foundation.

Throughout the years, I've used a huge range of their amazing products, but one has remained constant — the Envirostat SPF 50+.

One of the most common discussions amongst my peri and menopausal friends is that their hair fall has increased with age.

When Scent Australia joined the Adore Beauty family in June 2024, no one in the office was as excited as me.

I'm sure I was responsible for the majority of sales in the first week!

I've been a huge fan of Scent Australia for a couple of years now and have many of their products throughout my home.
