'6 beauty products I credit for still having "good skin" at 57.'

First up, I know that to say I have "good skin" sounds cocky - and when it comes to all things beauty, skincare et al., I'm usually anything but.

BUT.

I really think a few beauty stalwarts have contributed to my skin being better than it deserves to be at 57.

Watch: Leigh Campbell shares the common beauty mistakes we make as we age. Post continues.

Yes, I have some wrinkles around my eyes and, yes, I've had Botox since my 30s to alleviate a big frown line on my forehead.

But I still credit these six little beauties with giving me a complexion I'm relatively happy with at my age.

1. Revlon ColorStay Foundation, $39.95.

I wear this foundation with SPF 20 over the top of my SPF 50+ sunscreen every day, which has meant my skin has always been well and truly protected.

Revlon ColorStay has been my go-to foundation for years (we're talking the 90s here, people!).

It's medium to full coverage, lasts all day, doesn't emphasise wrinkles like some foundations, and doesn't clog my pores or feel tight on my face.

It's often on sale, so I never pay full price either!

2. Ella Bache Breakout Treatment Cream, $55.

I have used this since I was a kinda pimply teen, and always have a tube in my bathroom cupboard.

It's a little miracle cream; dab it on a pimple at night and by the morning, it's almost vanished.

This product is pricey, but one tube lasts a really, really long time, and I wouldn't be without one.

3. Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel, $74.

I have always liked the feeling of clean skin, even though washing your face can strip it of moisture.

That's why I have used this soap-free Dermalogica cleanser for years.

It has been around as long as the brand has - and they launched in 1986 - but I definitely couldn't have afforded it until the late 90s.

I always have a refill in the cupboard these days. You can lather your face knowing that the cleansing agent in it, something called Quillaja Saponaria, doesn't strip moisture at all. Happy days.

4. Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream, $164.

As long as I've used Dermalogica cleansers, I've used this moisturiser.

I have dry, sensitive skin, and this rich cream keeps it hydrated (they say the hydration lasts for 48 hours, but I've never tested that).

I don't know how it does what it does, but I use it every single night without fail, and I'm never disappointed.

The brand says that it helps protect against environmental stress, which is lovely of it, but I just love the creamy goodness and all of its wonderfully calming ingredients, like mallow, cucumber, arnica, grape seed extract, vitamin C and vitamin E.

5. Elizabeth Arden Original Eight-Hour Cream Skin Protectant, $35.

Dry skin and chapped lips be gone with this little tube in your life.

I have always had a tube of Elizabeth Arden Eight-Hour for as long as I've been looking after my skin; it was invented in 1930 by Elizabeth Arden herself.

It's great for dry patches, irritations and wind or sunburn. My lips love it; I also pop it on my eyebrows and around my hairline to help with irritation.

I'll never forget, however, that Prince Harry said in his book Spare that he used it on his penis when it was frostbitten… but don't let that put you off.

6. Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, $112.

Like many women my age, I was guilty in the 80s of using apricot scrubs on my face.

These days, however, I always have this in the shower and while I don't use it daily, I use it about once or twice a week to remove dry skin, especially around my nose and chin.

It's soothing and scrubby at the same time with calming ingredients like colloidal oatmeal and allantoin, so I don't get that screaming red face of old people.

I think it really helps brighten my face with its rice-based powdery goodness.
