'People always stop me to ask what perfume I'm wearing. This is my favourite.'

Most of my perfumes are seasonal wears — sugary, warm scents for winter, bright and fruity scents for summer, fresh florals and sweet notes for spring. But what do you wear in these in-between autumn months?

Look, I take my perfumes very seriously. To me, they're the final accessory that completes an outfit, and I use them to frame how I want my day to go. The perfect scent creates an aura, a vibe, if you will (I told you I take perfumes seriously!).

I'm embarrassingly meticulous when I choose what scent to wear and I think I've found the perfect, balanced perfume.

Meet Kayali Déjà Vu White Flower: a warm, sensuous, oriental number that's not like your other white florals. It's my favourite scent lately, and the perfect year-round perfume which is especially wonderful during the mid-season months because of its versatile profile.

I know white florals in autumn is an odd choice — you would expect this to be a summer scent — but Déjà Vu White Flower is not like other girls perfumes.

While jasmine and gardenia play lead roles in this scent (I am a jasmine girly forever), the true star of the show is… orange blossom!

The notes for Déjà Vu White Flower are as follows:

Top: Pear, white nectarine, gardenia

Middle: Indian jasmine absolute, orange flower, tuberose

Base: Crystallised patchouli, cashmere woods, Sri Lankan sandalwood, Tahitian vanilla

The Kayali Déjà Vu White Flower scent comes in both an EDP and a hair mist, because you'll want to practically bathe in it.

Orange blossom is such an underrated note. It's floral but warmer than gardenia and jasmine. Balanced with white musk, vanilla and sandwalwood, Déjà Vu White Flower is more of a spicy floriental than summer floral — which is why it works so well in the cooler months. (If you don't like jasmine or orange blossom but still love the idea of a spicy floral that works in autumn, you could also try Kayali's Fleur Majesty Rose Royale — it's got the same pear note, but then branches off into peach, rose and violet territory.)

I've had random people at the shops compliment me when I'm walking by while wearing this scent, as well as colleagues and, of course, my husband. (He describes this scent as clean, kind of in a laundry way, but also really sexy? Works for me!)

Déjà Vu White Flower is a guaranteed success story if you like spicy and warm florals, and I find that it's worth the cost because you can wear it all the time, day or night, summer or winter, with great results (especially if you use the hair mist!).

I'm actually about to restock my own bottle, so I can confirm that it wasn't a phase for me — I am well and truly locked in.

Just be warned — it's addictive, so once you get it, you might stop wearing all your other perfumes!

Alas, my gorgeous Tom Ford Soleil Blanc dupe continues to sit and watch while I choose Kayali over it yet again.
