Former AFL star Ben Cousins says he's lost it all and 'living out of a backpack'.

Former AFL star, Ben Cousins, has admitted he is homeless.

“It’s hard to know where to go to,” he told News Corp.

“I am living out of a backpack at the moment,” he added.

“I move between three mate’s houses, spend time on different couches.”

“There’s a lady I knock around with these days who I stay with, otherwise I just move on to another place.”

The Brownlow medallist made the comments following two nights in police custody, after breaching a domestic violence order.

The 38-year-old was fined $600 and granted bail over an incident with his former partner, Maylea Tinecheff, and their two children - aged three and five.

The fallen football star, who is said to have earned millions during his career, has faced court several times over his battle with drugs.

He reportedly told News Corp he was feeling "pretty crap".

“I know I have my issues, but I have never been a violent or bad father,” he said.

“I love my kids, I just want to be able to see them more.”

Family friend, Eddie Natale, told News Corp: “The guy had everything and now he’s got nothing."

“He lost his five beautiful properties and now he’s got two bob to his name.”

Cousins is due in court again next week over two other matters.
