American Mumfluencer Hannah Neeleman (better known as Ballerina Farm) is back in the spotlight.
Hannah, who runs a ranch in Utah with her husband Daniel, was at the centre of media discourse last year when a Sunday Times profile framed her as a "trad wife" who married and had children young, putting aside her own aspirations as a ballerina. The influencer, however, denounced the article as an "attack" on her family.
Slowly, the noise died down. And Hannah and Daniel went back to their ranch life with their eight children, selling meat and produce, milking cows, raising pigs, growing fresh vegetables, and sharing it all on Instagram and TikTok to over 10 million followers.
Now, a new controversy is plaguing the couple. In July this year, Ballerina Farm opened its flagship store, selling sourdough starters, protein flour, recipe books, jars, spatulas, seasoning, aprons, cutting boards, and more.
While their farm is close to their home in Kamas, Utah, Hannah and Daniel decided to open the store 32km away in a small town, Midway, which totals about 6,000 residents. And, apparently, they're not all too happy with the latest development.
"Since this store has opened, there has been a very obvious shift," wrote one disgruntled Midway local on Reddit. "We cannot even get out to main street on weekends to enjoy the local businesses because the whole place is literally overrun by wannabe trad wives."
