Every time the school holidays roll around, it’s easy to forget in the rush to entertain the kids, that parents need a holiday too. Luckily, there has been a huge emergence of kids clubs popping up in popular destinations like Bali, so that parents and kids alike can make the most of their time away.

If you’re looking to take advantage of some of the terrific kids clubs available at resorts in Bali, Skyscanner Australia has put together a handy list of the best clubs available.

So why should you choose Bali for a family holiday?

Bali is one of the most popular holiday destinations for Australian families to visit over the school holiday season because it’s affordable, the weather is great, and most resorts are well equipped to keep all members of the family entertained.

So, what are kids clubs?

Kids clubs are essentially daycare centres designed to entertain and look after the wellbeing of your children on holiday. Not all kids clubs are the same, but all will have a dedicated staff who organise events and activities such as dance, music, art, sports, as well as the odd daytrip.

So without further ado, here are our top Bali Kids Clubs to book into for this year’s school holidays.

Play@Sheraton is perfect for precocious tots on their school holidays because the club’s philosophy is to mix entertainment with education, literally ‘edutainment’. Intellectually stimulating games and activities are available at this club for two different age groups: the ‘Kids Zone’ for three to five  year olds, and the ‘I’m An Explorer Club’ for six to 12 year olds. Facilities include an outdoor playground as well as a kids’ pool, and there is a healthy catering service, so you know your kids are eating nutritious food while in the Sheraton’s care. Opening hours are from 8am to 9pm.

The hotel itself is in popular Kuta, with direct beach access, a rooftop pool, and is within close proximity to attractions like the Bali Safari and Marine Park.

Prices for the Kids Club are 70,000IDR ($6 AUD) per hour/per child.

2. Kids Club and Game Centre – The Padma Resort.

There are two Padma Resorts in Bali, one in Legian and one in Ubud, but both of the Padma resorts are favourites with families thanks to their excellent pools and well-run kids’ clubs.

At Legian, the Wolly Kids Club is open from 9am to 9pm and is for children aged four to 12 years, and includes activities like arts and craft, t-shirt painting, duck feeding, yoga classes, cooking lessons, face painting, and quiet rooms where kids can read or relax. The Games Centre, which is available for children aged six to 12, is next door, and within the same complex and comes complete with access to popular games consoles like PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, as well as things like mini billiards, table soccer, and air hockey. There are also a plethora of outdoor sports activities the kids can engage in. The Padma Resort in Ubud has the same services, and opening times, but you can also arrange a babysitting service through this club for your kids.

The Kids’ Club and Games Centre price is included in your stay, but the babysitting service costs 65,000IDR ($6.20 AUD) for two kids/per hour or 90,000IDR ($8.50 AUD) for max. four kids/per hour.

3. Kokokan Kids Club – Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort.

Perched on a clifftop in Tabanan, west of the busier resorts, this resort features sweeping views over the ocean, as well as out to magnificent temples like Tanah Lot. For many parents, the big attraction here is the 18 hole golf course.

Of course, what makes this resort hit our list is its popular Kokokan Kids Club, which is open from 8am to 6pm, and offers activities like tennis, golf, swimming, Balinese dancing, painting, arts and crafts, traditional games, and cooking classes.

The outdoor playground includes a climbing wall, a rope bridge, and a mini adventure course. There are also swimming pools set over four levels, and a whopping 54m waterslide that older kids can go crazy on (well, not too crazy!).

4. Planet Trekkers – InterContinental Bali Resort.

Traditional Balinese architecture meets lush and exotic opulence at this resort on the beach at Jimbaran Bay. There are six pools, including fun pools for kids and the fountain pool.

Planet Trekkers is like a resort within the resort for children aged four to 12 years. Children are grouped by age, the Minis being four to seven years and the Maxis are the eight to 12 age range.

There are large indoor and outdoor areas and the club boasts reading areas, an internet cave with games, arts and craft corners, as well as outdoor features like a fully-equipped playground, basketball court, and a pool. Activities include cooking classes, yoga sessions, and during the turtle hatching season, ceremonial turtle releases on the beach. Opening hours are 9am to 10pm, and the cost of the club is inclusive of your hotel cost.

5. Kupu-Kupu Kiddies Club – Bali Dynasty Resort.

The Kupu-Kupu Kiddies Club is the mac daddy of Kids Clubs in Bali, and you’ll find its reputation is totally deserved if you book a stay here during the school holidays. There is the Enchanted Garden—dedicated to children ages four to 12, and the Den Teens Club, which is dedicated to older children and teenagers from 10 to 16.

You’ll find the Enchanted Garden features a full schedule of activities in arts, sports, and dance, whilst the Den Teens Club offers WiFi, table games, movies, and games consoles. Outdoors, is the Kids Water Fun Zone which is like a mini waterpark, with things like hose jets, and water canons. There is also a baby pool with a mushroom fountain, and a play area with a climbing frame, swings, slides, and seesaws.

Adults can enjoy the six restaurants, the private beach, or any of the three swimming pools available here.

The Kids Club is included in the price of your stay at Bali Dynasty Hotel.
