It's time. Time to pack away the jingle bells and start to focus on the school bell. Parents, it doesn't matter if you'll be waving them off at the school gate with a tear (or a slight cheer) — experience tells me that a fresh new year of learning is easier on everyone with a little preparation first.

Long school lists, device specifications, and pencil grading scales can be a lot to get your head around, especially when you and your little pupils are firmly in summer holiday mode. But I've been there before — mum of a primary schooler and high schooler over here — and found that this handy list of supplies will take away some of the pressure and the panic that goes with back-to-school shopping.

The Officeworks near my house is our go-to to pick and choose supplies year round, but sometimes, when there's no time to waste on ticking off the back-to-school checklist, the two-hour click and collect (or same-day delivery service when you're in a pinch) is the most convenient.

I'm talkin' school essentials from 10 cents (yes!), great value for money and the widest range of school products and tech all in one place. If you're shopping back-to-school stuff online, I also recommend using their 'shop by grade' feature to make sure nothing is missed. Officeworks, straight to the head of the class.

From school starters to high school seniors, here's a very handy school supplies checklist your kids might just be needing.
