What we know about Aziz Ansari's girlfriend, Serena Skov Campbell.

Well over a year since he was accused of sexual misconduct by a woman he went on a date with, comedian Aziz Ansari reportedly has a new girlfriend.

From around the end of last year, the 36-year-old Master of None actor has been linked to a Danish PhD student named Serena Skov Campbell, 29, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Paparazzi shots surfaced of the pair around September last year while they were out together in New York, and later at the U.S. Open Tennis Championship.

This was when Ansari was “laying low” after allegations of sexual misconduct which preceded a public statement where he said he was surprised and saddened by the report, but maintained the sex was consensual.

In early 2018, a story published on Babe.net detailed a sexual encounter a 22-year-old woman had with Ansari after a first date which left her shaken and crying.

The story read: “Throughout the course of her short time in the apartment, [Grace] says she used verbal and non-verbal cues to indicate how uncomfortable and distressed she was. ‘Most of my discomfort was expressed in me pulling away and mumbling. I know that my hand stopped moving at some points,’ she said. ‘I stopped moving my lips and turned cold.’”

In his recently-released Netflix comedy special Right Now, Ansari addressed the situation and backlash from the public.

“I’m sure there’s some of you that are curious how I feel about that whole situation,” he says.

“I felt so many things in the last year or so: There’s times I felt scared, there’s times I felt humiliated, there’s times I felt embarrassed, and ultimately I just felt terrible that this person felt this way.”

According to Vulture, at a live comedy show in February this year, he told the audience: “After a year, how I feel about it is, I hope it was a step forward. It made me think about a lot, and I hope I’ve become a better person.” Ansari also mentioned a male friend who said the story forced him to reconsider every date he had been on.

Ansari added, “If that has made not just me but other guys think about this, and just be more thoughtful and aware and willing to go that extra mile, and make sure someone else is comfortable in that moment, that’s a good thing.”

As he’s further returned to the stage this year, stories of his relationship with Campbell have peppered his routine, indicating that the relationship is getting quite serious.

An audience member from one of his stand-up performances told Page Six he had discussed taking Campbell to India last December to meet his grandmother.

The same source also revealed one of Ansari’s stories shared in the routine.

“He said he and Serena were walking in the West Village when a guy told her, ‘You must get a lot of free taxi rides.’ Serena said: ‘I pay half my share!’ But Aziz told her, ‘You missed the point, he was being racist!’ and she joked: ‘Well then, he should have said, ‘I bet you get a lot of free medical checkups!’ Aziz thought it was sweet that she tried to defend them,” Page Six reports.

It is understood Campbell is studying at King’s College in London with a focus on physics and plasmonics. Daily Mail report she has also worked on a British satellite project.

Before meeting Campbell, Ansari was in a relationship with chef Courtney McBroom for a few years from 2013.

Speaking to Billboard, Ansari said he had met her long before this, but she wasn't single. The two of them reconnected years later and struck up a relationship.

Once describing his relationship with McBroom, he said: “I was the guy eating Skittles and having lots of fun, and then I was like, ‘I need a nice nutritious salad’ — she’s the salad.”

They split in early 2016.

After this, he was briefly linked to actress Jennifer Lawrence, but things fizzled out and they decided to remain friends, as OK! Magazine reported.

While it does seem as though he and Campbell are on the serious side, and their trip to India may indicated they're taking things to the next level, back in 2015, he told ELLE he wasn't sold on the idea of marriage, adding that many people these days “don’t really feel so enraptured by the institution of marriage.”
