'I shop for a living and I really need you to see these 10 new arrivals.'

If my calendar is to be believed, we're one month away from Autumn — which means a whole new season to dress for. I feel like I just got comfortable in shorts again, and now I've got to start thinking about trench-coats? It's a cruel world.

So, what are we all going to be wearing next?

I've been busy looking into this and I can tell you, the outlook is good. While 2024 seemed to be all about novelty micro trends for content's sake, this year we'll see a movement toward pieces that have actual staying power. While the colours or silhouettes might be on trend, they'll slot into your wardrobe and stick around, rather than sticking out (I'm looking at you, bubble skirts.)

Since a sizeable portion of my day is spent refreshing "new arrivals" tabs, it would be remiss of me not to share my favourite finds so far.

From the chicest statement collar blouse to the ultimate minimal flats, here are 9 fresh pieces to add to your wishlist.

Ceres Life Comfy Quilted Boxy Jacket, $149.99.

When you need an easy layer to give your most basic outfit some oomph, a textured bomber is a great solution. This quilted option updates the denim jacket for 2025, plus it brings a little bit of bohemian energy to your look, too.

Zara Striped Oversized Shirt, $79.95.

Whether it's for work or the weekend, a striped cotton shirt is one of those essential pieces. But while colourful options have been trending for ages, we're now seeing a return to old-school business shirt shades like pale blue and crisp white. With its asymmetric hem, this Zara find is more fashion-forward than your standard oversized oxford.

Sabo Sierra Pants Sage, $98.

Sage green isn't just having a moment, it's about to become a new neutral — so says Nicole Adolphe, The Iconic's Head of Style and a recent guest on our fashion podcast, Nothing To Wear.

These knit pants have everything you want in your loungewear — they're equal parts comfy and cool enough to wear out of the house. They come with a matching crop, but try styling them with oversized tees for an easy, 'just threw this on' vibe.

ABrand 94 High & Wide Jeans in Dark Blue, $129.95

That's right, I just found your new favourite jeans. In 2025, fashion is entering its clean classics era, which is why heritage styles like dark-wash bootcut jeans feel fresh again. They're the perfect compliment to Autumn's lightweight knits and blouses. Just make sure you tuck them in to show off the chic high waist.

Tony Bianco Kimba Choc, $119.95.

Chocolate brown is the new black — if you don't know, now you know. So, I got unreasonably excited when I saw these leather thongs touch down on Tony Bianco's website. With their minimal, no-fuss design, they bridge the gap between a casual shoe and a sleeker option. And yes, the move now is to wear thongs with your warmer layers all the way into winter.

Petal & Pup Zestora Tee, $59.

This tee won me over right away because of its retro colour combo and boxy shape. Enough said, really.

COS Canopy Mini Crossbody Nylon, $125.

I've been on the lookout for a slouchy shoulder bag that won't cost an arm and a leg, and this newbie from COS is at the top of my list. The nylon material is super durable for daily wear, and I love the contrast between the utilitarian shape and the bright pop of cherry red.

H&M Broderie Anglaise Detail Poplin blouse, $44.99.

Folksy collars are coming whether you like them or not, but I happen to really like them. If you subscribe to 'tabletop dressing' — the theory that you should put the focus on the top half of your outfit because it's what everyone will be seeing, then a statement collar does the hard work for you. I'll temper the drama of the shirt with simple denim shorts and jeans.

Sunday in the City Under Pressure Gingham Wide Leg Pant, $99.99.

These pants caught my eye because of their cropped cut. Blink and they're almost a midiskirt. Gingham is a trending print for autumn, but it can easily become overwhelming, and this style gets the proportions just right.

Zara Split Leather Cage Sandals, $79.95.

I practically gasped when I saw these buckled sandals, they're everything I've been looking for in a casual flat. The white leather is such a welcome change from my go-to black, and I'm into this interpretation of a gladiator sandal. It's so much more approachable than the fussier options on the market.
